  1. Unless something in the next couple of hours I can't see anything happening, based of the GFS most Cape and LI is in the area surrounding Wiltshire which dies off by 6pm. But yet the warning was for the whole of Southern Central with a warning affective until 10pm.
  2. I tend not to believe the forecasts now over the last couple of days they have been way off. It's a shame that we never get storms like we did in the 90's.
  3. That's insane as I was further up in Andover and didn't get much.
  4. The storm was about 10- 15 miles away, driving under it I saw anvil crawlers, and flashing strobe lightning all over. Got to Basingstoke and once i found a good place to park the rain was biblical. My original plan was to get to Alton just to east of Winchester but i made the right choice and hold out in Basingstoke. I did start to re-chase the storms but they were moving at some speed so gave up.
  5. Not bad from a video still from my phone, so chuffed i got this shot though
  6. As there wasn't much in the way of a storm in Andover i jumped in the car and was planning to head towards alton, however as i headed towards Basingstoke i punched through a small storm in Micheldever. Found a nice spot just on the outskirts of Basingstoke the lightning was Amazing constant strobe, CG lightning insane rain with hail mixed in. Got some shots of some lightning so ill post up later
  7. Those storms look to far east apart from Kent, and seem to dissapate before they enter the channel. looking at the met office forecast they stated between 8-9pm
  8. Thanks So the storms will be elevated that's abit more hopeful.
  9. we should start seeing initiation in next couple of hours but i do wonder if the high cloud is the issue with "CIN" ?
  10. From Met Office forecast I saw that's where the storms are forming from and moving into Wiltshire and Hampshire, Moving NNE
  11. This gives me June 1996 storm vibes, storms formed in the west around Devon and moved east. It seems different that the normal Kent clipper we normally get.
  12. Still cant see any flashes but that cell behind the main band sound of the IOW has intesified.
  13. Nothing to see yet from North Hants im interested in the bright echos on south of IOW.
  14. Checked about 10 mins ago can't see nothing yet, but expect to see something soon
  15. Yeah i thought that too, seemed to be killed off as soon as they leave france
  16. as suspected these are SB storms and dieing off, nocturnal cooling along with high DP will cause the storms to develop just wait till 7ish
  17. I think these cells will die off in the Channel, if i'm not mistaken that the storms need to be elevated in nature therefore it wont be for another couple of hours yet and would explode in the channel as they wont be affected by sea temps.
  18. Looking at the risk chart it seems anything south of the M4 corridor could be in for a good light show, i have seen similar setups to this and normally anything east of Salisbury is where the action happens but i wonder if it will be like the bournemouth supercell that happened some years back
  19. Quite happy with this, ill either get to see a good show or some good storms. Im right on the 50% storm risk.
  20. Did you see any lightning ? difficult against the fog i guess as the storm had to be over us to see the lightning
