Not sure if this post is relevant (or allowed in here)but does this chart for next Tuesday mean bitter cold or Massive snow event...sorry not trained in these matters but love to read all the posts in here. My motive for asking is because I have to drive from east yorkshire yo sheffield and back on Tues...Madness concert ;-)

Sorry for stating this again but getting quite heavy here in Beverley now.... For those interested in how things are progressing
-
Most definitely snowing in Beverley now
-
Snowing lightly in Hull now and the sky looks full of mischief :-)

Hey don't forget the best technical device for detecting snow....The Lamp - post"Confidence in forecast snow depths is currently much lower than it was for last weekend"
Knew it. This probably is going to be a radar-watching on the day event because the models just cant agree.

Paul Hudson posted this on Twitter :-)

This was just from our back garden!....I darent take them on the Westwood....they'll probably dig in and we'll have to call out some sniffer dogs to find them...little sods!! :-)The snowy Westwood does that to my dogs too :-) Looking forward to sledging in the morning. Still snowing out there but I think the wind has eased a little.
Currently thawing in front of the fire with the dog flap SHUT!!!! :-)))I love that-get the wifes' hair dryer on the poor thing

Blimey theres some warmer temps in this band.
from -1 temp and -2.4 dew, it has risen to 1.1c temp and -0.3 dew. Hope the heavier precip hits soon, otherwise it may fall as rain.
Still snowing as i type (lightly)
snowing nicely in Beverley now....and settling
-
Had about 5cm of snow here in Pocklington this afternoon from a heavy/prolonged spell of snow which gave an excellent depth really quickly! All eyes now to the north for the next band <_<
Yes hopefully some comes to Beverley....amazing how a short distance and a bit of elevation makes all the difference. We have only had 1 decent shower all day which has just left a few frozen flakes on the ground.
-
just looked out and its started snowing again in Beverley
-
Just make sure you get in there before the Daily Express hears about it...
Theres something in the wind...Paul Hudson said on Radio Humberside earlier he's put £20.00 at 8-1 on a white christmas :-)

My Street is WHITE ...Yaayyyyyyyyyyyyy
-
This is more painfull than watching my beloved Leeds UTD!! The odd flake hear and there but nowt much...i reckon 2moz is the day for us
Don't worry....I'm in Beverley and I can see masses of showers blowing over me towards you....hopefully :-)
-
Finally some proper snow today in Beverley...everything loking nice and white now
-
-
but thats not good news... if mild air does get in or near, the snow will readily melt at lower levels, assuming it settles at all..
sorry to be so cynical, but ill believe all this when i see it!
Much as I would love to see lots of snow I think this is a very healthy attitude to take and if you know whats good for you you'd do the same...saves you and your kids a lot of dissapointment. Despite that I'll still be up till early hours model ( and lamp post ) watching ...just in case

I think the low pressure forecast was right as my digital readout now says 993...unless it's on the blink...temp reading here in Beverley is now 0.2 Deg c.
Edit...it's o.1 Deg c.
