I’ve just been gritting and clearing snow around our farm.
Thick, even blanket of snow laying here in Tillingham, with very heavy, continuous snow and windy conditions.
intensity hasn’t let up for a good few hours.
This will be an epic event if we get a few more hours of this!

Heaviest snow of the day now in Tillingham, decent covering formed very quickly..

Many thanks Coast, will be glued to this thread.................and keeping everything crossed!

Ok, now getting very worried about our event on Saturday. I did post a while back asking if we are likely to have a major problem.
It's our 20th wedding anniversary and we have a BBQ organised for around 50-60 guests, starting at 2pm!!
What do all you experienced guys think? Just seen the BBC forecast and we look to be in trouble
-
We've been really enjoying the settled spell and looking forward to more of it!
It's all eyes to the 27th for us, we have our 20th wedding anniversary BBQ and about 50 guests to look after. Will it last until then? or are we going to be smack in the middle of a breakdown?
The missus is on my case to get some answers - lol !
Any help, is much appreciated!

A really fascinating read in this thread.
LRF? Stats/odds? I'm not educated enough (meteorologically wise) to comment either way. However as a prefessional lurker and non-contributor, I find the LRF's that are produced by the regulars on here compelling reading as are the counter arguments to them.
As for the stats, well, Ladbrooks are pretty good at providing them so I'll wait for their annual odds on a white Christmas! I guess you never see a poor bookmaker so stats must have their place
My preference will always be for cold and my hope will always be for snow and watching my kids grow up with year after year of snowless winters down south only hightens that preference.
Yido,
Season ticket holder myself, do you go regularly?

hmmmmm, perhaps i WILL tease them a little with the potential, thanks guys!!!
By the way Steve, from Bexley area myself - sister still lives off the high road, I can be often spotted drinking over there

Many thanks for the reply - won't tell the children though can't stand the sad faces!
Here's hoping for a turnaround in about 2 weeks time

Wrong thread I know and will quite probably be ignored but................does anyone know when the first significant snowfalls are normally due for Lapland and Finland?
My daughter aged 11 and son aged 8 are both off there in 2 weeks with the school (5 days) and want to know about potential snow. I keep looking at that site with the Finland weather cams but alas nothing yet
Anyway, been an avid - no addicted lurker for ever - well ever since the site has been around. Only got round to joining last year and although I don't have any meaningful contributions you guys do keep me entertained with the chat and debate - so many thanks!
Love the build up to the winter by the way and the rollercoaster ride for potential snow - bring back the model tracker Steve!

Thanks for that Cambrian, that's a great visual of what's to come...
