Constant growling here over north Wolverhampton, a few large spots of rain, nothing too heavy at the moment.
Biblical rain in East Wolves, wind has changed from Westerly to Easterly and now Southernly,

30 miles south of Birmingham and South/West of there are today’s hot spot. North of that and you are struggling massively.
It’s a Birmingham south event.

NW radar showing rain over Wolverhampton for a while, not a drop is reaching the floor, not sure if it's evaporating on the way down.

NEW: San Francisco reports first 2 cases of coronavirus; both are the result of community spread
That there is concerning!!
Indeed, I am not having the numbers from America, cannot be anywhere near accurate.

So the US has 137 reported cases with 11 deaths, what's peoples thoughts, is this a sign that there's a 100s of unreported cases or is this an anomaly based on the care home being very unlucky?

I think so too at least for a good while, we are starting to see first clusters of cases in our urban towns/cities. If we leap forward a month where will we be, I wonder? Scottish highlands is the place to be to escape it in U.K., similarly Northern Europe with very low population densities there it will be much easier to control.
I do take your point but on the flip side there's a comfort being on the doorstep of world class medical facilities that you find in our major cities.

The patient died in Valencia on February 13th further testing has confirmed it was of coronavirus.
This seems significant to me, would mean that the virus was well established in Europe longer than assumed?

And try de-icing your car once it's sat under freezing rain, ice scraper just scratches the surface, hammer and chisel would be more suitable.

Ugh. Keep that away from here, please. I experienced it in December 1995 in Bristol, and it was horrendous. Makes normal icy roads look like a breeze; you cannot even stand up safely. I remember a car inching out of a side road at literally 5 mph. The driver put on the brakes, and the car didn't slow down at all. Just skidded on. If he hadn't been going so slowly there'd have been a nasty accident.
I remember it from 2004 i think when it fell over Birmingham, people spent the night on the Aston Expressway because cars couldn't get up the slip roads, same at Broad St, cars stuck on the 5 ways underpass. Nothing more guaranteed to grind roads to a halt then freezing rain.

I bet the M6 Toll is fun currently.
M5 is partially blocked between J1 and J2, down to 1 lane due to flooding in lanes 1 and 2.

Is there any chance of having Birmingham more clearly marked on the map - you have to zoom right in to locate it which is a pain when trying to take an overview of a wide area. Given it's the second largest city in the country if would make it a lot more user friendly to those of us in the West Mids.
thanks

Had 1 strike of lightening to the north west of Birmingham Airport, - hope for those in Derby I would suggest

Broke on the news a couple of mins ago, confirmed by First Transpennine: #firstTPe Managers to assist: Manchester Airport closed after falling glass and barriers (not ours) blowing ab..
I'm sure it's the train station roof at Manchester Airport that's damaged rather than the airport itself.

Emirates 777 going around again
Judging from it's direction of travel looks like it's diverting, no idea where to though
-
Just watched plane over Stockport try to land but had to put power back on and climb again looked like one of the really big planes
Emirates flight from Dubai has just aborted a landing at Manchester, looks like it's currently looping around for another attempt.
