    im working in swindon this week, i couldnt make it last feb as old sodbury hill was as far as i could get. this looks like feb all over again but with possibly even more snow. i agree with Ian Ferguson regarding the icy roads tonight, my car reported minus 3 at 16:30 and the country roads were like bob sled runs around here.

    sleet turning increasingly to snow here at the mo, im about 65m ASL if that helps, some big flakes amongst the sleet.

    i reckon south glous/north bristol will get hit later in the day as the snow moves south, if all else fails then thursday looks very good. cant remember a winter with so much happening in december. we usally get our snow in feb. theres plenty of snow yet to come for everyone im sure before this winters out.

    your not kidding. if this comes off the west country will be a snowfest. im actually contemplainting snow chains as this winter seems very diffferant to anything we have had for a long time.

    how is the west side of the uk and Ireland likely to fare? will it be too mild in the south west and will the precipetation make it any further west than the midlands? such as bristol:)

    my garden seems to have fared better than normal here even my chilean guava plants survived unharmed outdoors, it seems to be the wet rather than the cold is the killer for my garden

    quite heavy snow here for last hour. the bath junction area was snowing very early at around 5ish there will be a few inches up there tomorrow.

    thats just it, the second i spend money and we will have a heat wave. i have never seen a proper blizzard before so that could be interesting, i just wish it could do this on the weekend.

    i am hoping that it will just be rain to be honest. i like snow as much as anyone but i need to get from bristol to swindon all week and lost two days last week. i might have to get some chains, has anyone tried snow chains and how effective are they? roll on spring

    i used to live up there in ruthin, they never seemed to get any snow. i bet horseshoe pass is quite a sight?

    still snowing in south glous i would say around 6 inches with deeper drifts of a foot or so. i attempted to drive to swindon this morning and had to turn around at old sodbury hill. tried to set off again half an hour ago and couldn't get out of my drive. i havent seen snow like this here since the 80's. i guess the South easts loss is our gain?
