-10 here, must be coldest night in london for 20 years. there was ice on the inside of the double glazed windows this a.m - despite heating being on overnight- can't remember that happening before.
-
Now someone that agrees with me, this was a massive **** up!
Most stuff is pre-recorded, especially the weather.
i wouldnt say it was a massive balls up, although they were clearly wide of the mark - they did say there could be a few flurries over London. It's not like it's a foot deep where none was forecast.
I agree though that unexpected snow is the best variety!
-
its on all surfaces here, the tress and bushes look very picturesque and quite heavy again now.
-
we've had about 3cm here. and it has become moderate in the last half hour, had a very snowy cycle back from crystal palace just now.
-
a few flakes arrived!
-
why isnt it snowing here then???????????
-
not started here yet, but reports in from the east of us..........hmmmm
-
i noticed in the docks where i work has still got fairly intact snow cover on the grass, whereas here just a few miles away its virtually gone.
-
i want a massive dump!
-
I'm afraid i am being realistic especially with the longer days and stronger sun.
stronger sun us never a factor until after mid feb, and really not properly before 1 March . Even after that, snowfalls can be good and frosts sharp.

Think the Met Office are underestimating the temperatures by 1-2c. And the thaw will continue in towns & cities. Roll on Summer :-D
the troll returns
-
about 3 inches last night, most of which has melted today here.
had nice day in north downs, 5 -6 inches around westerham, limpsfield. absolutely stunning walk in magical glistening woodlands no thaw going on.
but return to south london depressing - now a slushy mess in town.
-
Lots of snow in the last hour here, really getting quite exciting. reckon nearly 3 inches. theres a few hours to go yet!
-
not that heavy here......
-
Is it just me or does it seem to be intensifying as it approaches London?
-
As Shrimper Said
Incredible Temperatures with a Southerly wind and an advancing Atlantic Front
indeed - its like something you read about from the great winters of old.
-
As the band is hitting central London, it's intensifying quite a lot. Colder air here, milder air getting sucked away over the South east, if that makes sense.
i also noticed that , hopefully very good news indeed for us.

Snowing in Dulwich! Ha hey!
-
The days are much longer now and i am looking forward to this snow event this evening for sure but i have a feeling some people will be disappointed esp by the coast and in city centres. Met Office under estimated temperature rise!
trolll alert!
-
37, 38 in a week or two!
-
I'm really worried it will end up as rain in London . Snow from the west has never ended well for us in the capital in the 15 years i have been here. Also not much wind to reduce the UHI effect. Will tomorrow really be different?

I'll take pertubation 4 please!

these ensembles look cold
1 day blip then the mean stays below -5 for the whole run
i like the one that goes down to -20............
-
Chances of that verifying i wonder.......... this front does seem more beefy than previously thought - could be exciting!
