Would that be another polar low forming in the flow? It looks rather promising! -
Unbelievable! At 3pm the snow started to fall much heavier, enormous flakes........just in time for the school run. By the time we got back at 4pm an additional 3cm had fallen! Temp currently 0.4C, dew 0.0C. Still snowing moderately.

Temp dropping now down to 1.2C from a high of 1.8 at about midday. Dew point still 1.0C Snow almost stopped here but looking at the radar this is just a temporary reprieve! Anyone seen a recent forecast for overnight?

Currently 1.4C Dew of 1.0C. We have almost 3cm of level snow which has been falling since 9am this morning. Still coming down fairly steadily although it is pretty light. Long may it continue! Postcode LN1

06z model discussion - snowing now and what after?

Referring back to Rogers post I'd just like to say that as a long time lurker on this forum I look forward to your posts as much as those from Optimus Prime, Steve M, Carinthian and John H. They are extremely well written and informative whilst also being objective. Despite what the models are showing atm I think the northern block will take a fair bit longer to shift, temps here were -2C overnight, everything is frozen solid. I'm looking forward to a very very slow return to normal temps. Susan
