At the bottom of tonights warnings there is an alert for Snow for S.E England, mainly for eastern Kent.
I did read it properly.......................lol
That warning has been sat ther since 1022 this morning , originally on a be aware status , the new one is for widespread ice
-
Met office warning now out for the south east during tonight and tomorrow. It seems that snow is likely now.
That warning is mostly for widespread icy roads

according to my station (if its correct) it is still 3.9c outside
No , thats about correct , MetO Temp at Manston is currently about 4.0c

Supposed to be going to Woodchurch (Asford) to see santa (will be taking the kids). It was called off yesterday. Has it snowed more there?
I dont think it has , just been localised to the far east of kent , probably best to ring them and ask , if u have a phone number

Well I dont believe we have actualy woken up to the `white stuff` very rare around these parts , gona have to dust the sledges off , YaY!!

Roger J Smith what a brilliant write up and i'd totaly agree with it being possibly a MCS of historic proportions. Never in my life have i seen such rain!
another tower going up to the south of the one that just hit east kent on sat24 radar

This... is just amazing , i'll tell you all in the morning.
I've never seen anything like it
not as bad here in deal neilsouth but some very very impressive lightning , not seen like that for years .
-
Snow showers, a few heavy one's, have continued on and off all evening and have kept adding to the couple of cms that fell this afternoon. Lovely glow outside from the lying snow, which is powdery and blowing around in the wind. There are some amazing cloud formations to my south and east. Thundersnow material?? Btw that link with the lightining is amazing - while I was watching the Dancing on Ice programme earlier I thought I saw a flash across the sky, and did wonder if it was lightning. Where was it filmed??
Seems that there are distinct lines of streamers going on across the SE region. Haven't seen any reports from Dover. Folkestone. Hythe way for a while where the snow I had seemed to be coming from earlier - but wherever it is tracking from it is very welcome!!
Thats coz nothing is happening here

Hi, feel so sorry for you, im about 5 miles in from Ramsgate all im getting is very fine showers.
temp is 0.3 winds starting to go around to the north.
So if the winds are pulling round to the north is that going to help us in east kent pushing the showers down onto us instead of across into central kent??

Must be what the Stevenage crew saw
I like the metoffice warning for kent for tomorrow - dark red (take action) dont see that too often especially when theres snow about!!! woohoo

watching the local Houston news channels if Houston under water , hate to think what happening down in Galveston, looked on the local Houston traffic cams, cant get the traffic cams up

Those people on that stranded ship are enduring 16 to 20 foot waves and winds of up to 130mph apparently.
There were 2 shrimp trawlers making there way out into the gulf about 4 hours ago god knows how they are faring out there with waves that large ?

i can't believe that no evacuation was ordered!
Apparently there was a Mandatory Evacuation Ordered as reported on some of the live feeds , but a lot have decided to ignore it , being poor or not surely there was a way out as NOrelans with the county putting on buses etc to get people out.

Baton Rouge radio is reporting that Placaman (think I spelt that right) parish just lost its levee. That's not a critical levee though for the main city, this levee is related to the mississippi river apparently. Don't know any more, but the radio isn't overly excited about it.
