Agreed, too many times has snow been forecast, but Thanet stays green. No elevation plus surrounded by water doesn't help
it does upset me when people say "bingo" or "jackpot" for the south east and we still see the tip of kent (thanet) out of the equation, something I should have got used too but never will

people claim they live under a snow shield, they should try thanet, im the other side of sandwich and can be snowed in and you get nothing
yes I dont know why it is ,but we seem to need a separate forecast to the rest of the south east, winter or summer !!

Yep, already a lot of grit put down as I left the office.
Looking great! I'm hoping for between 10-15cm.....may be overly optimistic but who cares!
I hope thats not the depth of grit your looking for

according to the met outlook all we are going to get tomorrow from 8pm onwards are sleet symbols on their chart for ramsgate for five hours, just think if that was snow

I agree with that sentiment, otherwise we in thanet missout again like you, although that icon image did only go to 9pm that steve showed so some hope possibly

I see other areas are reporting the same as me......zilch ! woke up at 1am to the sound of rain and then at 6am all I was greeted with outside was a very wet ground with a temp of +1c . did not even have to de-ice the car and roads perfectly ok, I knew it would be a fine margin because its Thanet but I lived in hope , oh well perhaps next time if I can find the switch to shut off the snowshield

Hi, ECM 06z is almost identical to ALL other models, it has 1-2 inches throughout our area, max is about 2.5 inches. Low pressure does take a similar track to the GFS.
I've got access to it now, fwiw.
cheers Kold , I know its a bit iffy for our area (thanet) but will live in hope and lamppost watch

He us just relaying what the 6z ECM showed (we don't see this run).
I suppose the answer is to watch the radar and lamppost watch

The low's exact positioning is still uncertain and even GP will/should know this
I suppose even GP cant be right all of the time but I do tend to listen to forecasts and take them on board

GP has just posted on the mad thread about the EC06z and apparentely the low is going south eastwards towards BREST with precipitation to the north but not much

Up to you what you watch, but little point in watching them forecast Tuesday/Wednesday yet. The Met Office warning and the broad consensus from models suggest snow.
I do agree with you but early morning forecast on bbc showed the evening/night in question and said "possible travel disruption" but it will come down to where the low goes I suppose
