Looks like that's the lot for Darlo - at least for the decent stuff anyway. Missed out on the heaviest stuff, but still a surprising amount given I really didn't expect that much tonight .
-
I take it the radar is playing up at the moment since there's a mysterious chunk missing at the moment?
-
Oh dear at that gap in the showers, you couldn't make it up!
-
Very light snow here, seems a tiny bit sleety too? Fingers crossed!
-
I was just about to post exactly the same thing looking at the radar. There is a clump of showers just south of that which may hit us, but judging my it's current course, I can't see the main band hitting us at all.
-
winter wonderland wasnt expecting this non stop since 6.30am n getting heavier
Enjoy it while it lasts, this looks to be it's swan song . Must admit, I was surprised at the amount we got in Darlo, we were very lucky with what was quite a narrow band of showers hitting us dead on. Have to agree it was nice to have the main roads clear leaving work at 8 though, makes admiring the snowy scenes far more bearable when you're not having to drive at a snail's pace!

Proper blizzard here with the heavy snow and gales, but sadly its too wet to lie really.
Same story in Darlo really. Seemed to lay well at first, but it's fast melted and not really left a great deal.
-
That's the big band through Darlington already, not a massive amount down on the ground really. Still coming down moderately now, but seems a little wet when looking out the window.
-
Snowing moderately in Darlo too - thankfully! Was beginning to worry!
-
Just push that smaller total right over Darlington a little further either way and I'll be happy with that
-
Having been over in the north west expecting heavy snow on Friday and not getting much, and now being back in Darlo expecting lots for the north east I'm trying desperately to get my hopes up! If it does all go wrong, I'll be starting to think I've got a bit of a snow curse going on!
-
Just outside of Sale and it's starting to come down a little heavier now - nothing amazing yet but still time. Off back to Bolton now though where things should be a little less exciting for now
-
The sky looks very orange over the tees-side area from here, is this moving to darlo on the radar?
Wind picking up now as well remains 1.7°C with a dew point of -1.7c
Stockton seems to be the limit of where the band is getting into at the moment, showers look a little beefier up north of Newcastle, but still looks to me that theres only a small chance it'll pass through Darlo.
-
Think I'll just head to bed after I finish work judging by the radar - doesn't look like anything too exciting at all for us
-
No idea on windspeeds here in Darlington but it's howling around a fair bit out there now with some heavy blustery showers piling in too.
-
Snow warnings now appear to have been removed, are we looking at these being updated too? What are the chances for us seeing anything in the way of snow for the northeast?
-
Wind direction definitley changed looking at the most recent radar. Darlo going to miss out on the long band but hopefully that bit to the east has our name on it providing it doesn't fizzle out!
Edit: Hmm just noticed radar is a little behind so looks like whats left of it is here. Flakes too small to make an impact.
-
Moderate in Darlo now too. Just need that blob to the north east to keep on getting bigger. Hoping it manages to hit us! Turning out to be an interesting evening this! Xbox time whilst glancing at the radar and the window now I think .
-
Gah just shifting east for us to miss out on the big stuff from that current band!
-
I feel your pain Paul. Came out of work to a light shower at 7ish, stopped just as I pulled out of the car park all of 3 minutes later. Gutted!
-
Very small fine flakes floating down now. Nice covering on the roads now again though! Added a good few CMs and nice to see a proper heavy shower considering I missed the one near new year while I was down in London. Off for some kip now but will be interesting to see of we get anymore overnight and into tomorrow .
Haven't been out to measure Paul but a similar amount here I'd say. Definitely the fastest covering I've seen in a long time!
-
Wow. Just wow. Awesome heavy snow going on here atthe moment!
-
Seems to have strengthened somewhat as its hit land so fingers crossed for Darlo (and of course Aycliffe )
-
Looks as though Darlo might miss out again. The part of that band on course for us seems to be really thinning .

Driving across to Bolton at 8am on Saturday morning (or at least planning to!) so keeping a very beady eye out in here too as well! Interesting times, especially if the touted totals come off.
