  1. Just as I was about to turn in. Heavy snow falling now! Hopefully it will repair the patch which just fell off my car bonnet!
  2. Excellent Steve. Looks pretty quiet in the N.Sea now? radar Are these bands due to move back SE Steve?
  3. Think that's my lot for here. Streamer unlikely down the Thames I feel. Oh well, cannot complain, got a couple of inches here and was great seeing the blizzards and thundersnow earlier. Hopefully a couple more cm's will fall before morning. Night all. Roll on Sat night, when we could see a little more from the North.. EDIT: Kold, your gonna make me stay up a little longer now! Beeb graphics seem to suggest more snow from 3am here until about 8am...
  4. What you got? I have about 2" maybe 2.5" now. Not bad and can't complain really, this close to the N.Sea. Yeah. Was hoping it would of showed it's hand by now. But alas at the mouth of the Thames, light snow on and off.
  5. Steady stream of light/mod snow showers for last 20 mins or so. Nothing major though. Perhaps it will pick up shortly. If not im turning in!
  6. Yep. the angle of the showers in the S N.Sea is classic TSS setup. I guess I will be first to see any such occurrence being in Southend. Will stay up a little longer, just incase. EDIT: Now snowing moderately...Can it be...
  7. Look at the radar TEITS. here Look at the angle of the showers in the S N.Sea (E-W angle) Could of course be wishful thinking on my part... Hope you get a decent covering after missing out earlier.
  8. Right i'm giving it another 30mins or so, then turning in. Had a heavy shower 10 mins ago, but stopped again. Not sure this streamer is going to come off... Maybe in the next hour or so, if it is going too..
  9. Check the radar - here Heavy snow now falling again. Arise Sir Thames Streamer pleeeeeaaassee...
  10. Keep an eye on that lampost! You will see it first, then me about 2 mins later!
  11. Just nipped out for a fag. Overwhelming orange glow. So much so, I can see the end of my garden which is 90ft long. Clouds overhead def moving along the Thames now E-W, maybe slightly ENE-WSW. And snowing again lightly... Fingers crossed...
  12. Started snowing again in Southend. Paul, here comes the streamer (hopefully)...
  13. Quite possibly. Def convection happening around 50 miles from the mouth of the Thames. Will be the first to report any snow falling as I'm at the mouth! EDIT: Here comes the snow again after a dry last hour or so!! Hopefully this IS the Thames Estuary Streamer...
  14. On lampost watch all night here at the mouth of the Thames. If there is any action, I shall be first to report...
  15. Can I ask a silly question. Are these two bands of snow expected to move back SE?
  16. Check the radar. Def setting up a streamer for the Estuary... Watch it build up to my ENE. here
  17. Im using this radar Kold - Here Looks like some showers brewing to the ENE of me... Was going to turn in. Think I may give it an hour or so yet... Was going to go to bed. Think I may just stay awake a little while longer...
  18. Yep. Same here on the SE Essex coastline. Too marginal for my liking. Just for once I wish it could be a simple transition to snow!
  19. Indeed TEITS. Fingers crossed some prolonged bands make it your way. Funny isn't it, your concerned about getting the showers and I'm concerned whether or not my "prolonged" spells of snow, will indeed be snow or sleet! Never simple in this country is it.
  20. For the guys in the East worrying about missing the showers. Dont! With a NE flow in theory those in the East should see the heaviest and most prolonged showers. Whether they are of snow nearer the coasts is up for debate, certainly until the early hours anyway. I think the wind is a bit stronger than they originally thought, allowing the showers to push further inland across Western parts of our region. Good news all round really. We should all get a slice of the action.
  21. Haha. Hope it doesn't cause the air around you to be too warm, what with all that steam/heat it throws out! As for snow yesterday. Not a lot to be honest. We had small flakes falling from about midday, blowing in the wind. Then we had a heavy spell of snow around 2.45pm, which lasted about 30 mins, before turning to rain for the rest of the day. Didn't settle on anything. What about you? Any snow showers yesterday? Anyone care to comment on Rob M's forecast on the Beeb last night? Chance of a marginal channel low type situation on Monday and warming up?
  22. Hi Daniel. You are just across the Thames to me, about 3 miles away. Are you near that monstrousity of a power station?! I too share your concerns we may just see sleet/wet snow. Let's hope all the synoptics work in our favour eh. There's nothing worse than looking across the Thames and seeing a blanket of white on the other side, when you have nothing. That's how marginal I think it could be though. Here's hoping I'm wrong
