Looking at the radar, the front seems to be weakening really rapidly. There was a massive band of green over the Midlands and this has just about disappeared from the radar as it's heading towards Cambs. I can't believe it's decayed so quickly. there's no way we're going to get really heavy stuff in a couple of hours. It'll have fizzled out completely by then
It seems to be that there is a radar fault affecting this area - showing precip lighter than it actually is. You can see this with the streaky line arragement.

Alex Dolan ramping the "disruptive" tendancies of overnight Saturday into Sunday - East Anglia awash with snow on her map from about 8/9pm for a good few hours!
-
Rain rain and more rain here in West Suffolk still, had a few flakes mixed in at times however.
Temp slowly dropping, 2.3c currently.
-
2.6c and steady here in West Suffolk, very misty still but starting to clear...
Depends on the DP's and thicknesses but I think it's too marginal for snow in the current conditions.
-
Brackley, Northants is reporting snow by the way...
Is it me or does the front seem to be moving slightly NE? seems to be moving quite fast too, but I think if it does fall as snow, some of Northern EA may be caught by surprise... just a hunch I have.

Been snowing moderatly here in West Suffolk for the last 15 or so minutes. Despite NOTHING showing on radars. Confused central?
-
Can I suggest we all take a step back and look at the facts.
It's cold.
There's a possibility of snow over the week.
All the signals are starting to suggest that more snow could move in at the end of the week/into next week.
Eyes down for the 12z. Will it move the cool pool westwards sooner? Or will the high pressure stay in control for most of the country?...
-
I've just looked at the air pressure ensembles for the GFS 00z for Suffolk:

High, Medium or Low. Take your pick.
To my eyes, this could still go very much either way. And that is why we need to be cautious, the extreme cold pool may just stay out in the North Sea.

Still snowing moderately here in West Suffolk... must have a good 5-6 inches now. Brilliant stuff!
The grounds also getting covered quick after the snowmen we just made... pics to follow
-
People at work are saying west suffolk saw 4 inches or so.
I can confirm that.... easily

Anything else from these showers expected to hit West Suffolk?
About 2.5cm outside atm.
-
People calm down - there loads still to come.
Bley heck.

I've been thinking again (never a good sign )
If my college does risk opening tomorrow - they will be pushing it abit thin about being able to get home safely.
I live several miles from my college - and get a bus there and back. Most of this bus route is along back roads that dont get treated.
If i end up going tomorrow, with it being dodgy - it's gonna be one hell of a task going home in the worst of it.
-
Just checked outside - seems there been a heavy shower over the last 15 minutes - grass nearly totally covered - still snowing lightly.
-
-
Got a serious snow shower here now moderate to heavy snow - and the whole place has gone seriously dark.
Given a good dusting everywhere from one brief shower.
And its getting heavier again. Big flakes now. Christ its turning into a blizzard as im typing.
-
The snow has finally arrived in West Suffolk. Lots of moderately sized flakes whipped along by the breeze falling quite quickly!
-
Now Met Office have taken the orange warning off for the majority of the SE turning it green and just left the red for tomorrow What are they up to?
Callie
We can only hope it will be RED

Can't help but notice here in East Anglia, that we're now properly firing up for hopefully something eventful here according to the latest NMM. In Suffolk especially between 1-4pm we're hitting values of 2500 j/kg CAPE and Lifted Index's of around -5/-6 widely.
Anyone wish to interject with their views for E.A? Is mid afternoon potentially "big bang time?"
