Our weather station in Ashby-de-la-zouch recorded -9.8 last night! -1.4 now, looking forward to later on. I'm on a hen do in Birmingham, so it could be interesting.

A wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow here is Ashby de la Zouch.

Ok, got the factory shut down hours early, but there are now 6 of us stuck on site. We've dug the cars out, but the traffic is gridlocked from the end of the road. I'm putting the hot drinks machine onto free service, and we'll have to raid the development kitchen for tea supplies soon.

We are in a right mess with the snow in Telford, I am looking straight at the main gritting yard from my office window, and their car park and the whole road is completely covered to get into it. Wish I had a digital camara? I'm just on my way out to start shovelling snow off the factory car park, and do some more gritting. Luckily we ordered some at 8am this morning, for instant delivery(this site is so good for knowing to do that!).

Only a light dusting here on Stafford Park. There was a little more in Dawley when I left for work just before 7am. The road is completely clear, but then we are only a few metres from the Highways agency gritting depot.

I really like snow, and the model watching of the last few days has been great (if frustrating). However, the snow talk around the main office here is driving me up the wall. Everyone is an expert, and they've just been talking about the snow already hitting the M25, so its on its way here for tomorrow, because someones friend just sent them a text saying they were in a light snow shower!!!!!!! Then someone else speculating that an audit (happening a week on Monday) might be cancelled with all the snow.... Good grief. I found myself wishing that it all turns to rain and nothing much happens just to annoy them! After logging back on here, I'm now back to my normal self, looking forward to following the radar through tonight/tomorrow morning, and hoping the Telford snow magnet is working.

I wasn't suggesting your figures were wrong. What I was trying to say, but didn't phrase it properly, was, 'even the city centre got 2cm'. Whoops. My parents live just out from Nottingham city centre, in Gedling, where it meets Mapperley Top. There were frequent times when I lived there with the city centre getting nothing, even just rain, yet the buses struggling in the slush/snow by my parents house. I was living in Long Eaton in 2004 and we missed the whole Thundersnow thing.

My bloke lives in central Leicester (flats virtually next to the new arts centre place that's being built). The photos from the worst settled snow in the middle of the night show 2cm, maybe 3 at an absolute push. Here in Telford we just had the snow on Sunday night/early hours of Monday, which is still more than I expected as most of the weather was coming from the wrong direction for good snowfall for here (in my experience so far).

Snow in Dawley, Telford, last night between about 11pm and 1am. Big flakes, that gave a thin covering everywhere except the road.

Very frosty, with freezing fog. Still 3 inches of lying snow outside my front door even though there was lots of melt in sun exposed areas yesterday.

Almost total cloud cover here in Telford, snow flakes starting to blow about in the wind.

Lots of settling snow here in Telford. Measured an inch on the bonnet of my car (used a tape measure, no no arguments on depth). Differences with snow depth in only a few metres elevation. Priorslee village had about an inch when I left for work, with all roads covered, including some of the main ones. When I got to work on Stafford park, the pavements just had a dusting, nothing on the car park, and under a cm on the cars. I've just checked, and it's settling everywhere at work now. Big flakes, and a light covering of the car park over a couple of minutes. No chance of the roads getting covered, as I work next to the gritting depot!

First report after 15 months of lurking! Snowing here on Stafford Park in Telford. Just starting to settle on the colder parts of the car park.
