Amazing videos showing just how strong the quakes are at such a shallow depth, god help those poor people in Grindavic even without an eruption, it's relentless for them :-(
I think you are right, or even sooner. Are you on the web cam youtube page?
They've closed the road past the Blue Lagoon to Grindavik, there is a lot of traffic evacuating
It's going mad with the quakes there in Iceland now.
I caught the last 3 eruptions as they happened, you guys need to watch this cam and see it live.
The experts think we are imminent for an eruption any minute practically!!
Here's a great webcam...

I agree, here's a photo I took in November 2009, and this was as bad as it got here, and yet 20 miles away, they had a foot or more of snow that lasted weeks :-(
I think they're talking about a Sudden Stratospheric Warming , it basically shoves all the cold air from the poles, southwards to our latitudes, and can lead to snowy spells, and big 'freezes'
Was going to go on a long motorbike ride out today, but the weather is a whole lot worse than was forecast.
It's literally like mid Autumn atm, I must have picked the worst August on record to have two weeks annual leave :-(
Isn't it more due to the fact that a lot of NW punters, have possibly had a few glasses of wine before watching the pub run, and are more inclined to hyperbole (I'm guilty!)?
It's exciting to see snowmageddon when you are a bit tipsy :-p
