Does this guy have a clue what he's on about? Though I do find his stuff quite interesting sometimes:
Oh he went right off the deep end. Into all the right wing conspiracy theories and joined GB news!

Lovely surprise to be woken up by a thunderstorm. Several cloud to ground strikes and one monumentous bang nearby! (Reddish currently)

Sadly missed out today, dry here.

Can hear the thunder in the distance, everything is to the south of me atm though.

I wonder, what's the latest we have reached 20C for the first time in recent years?

Really heavy fluffy snow and we’ve just had thunder!

Personally I’m hoping for quite a wet spring to reduce the fires we normally get up here. It would be good to properly soak the ground ready for whatever summer May bring.

Some thick heavy snow for a time but not sticking below 400m in saddleworth. Now I’m Manchester just rain.

Can’t see there being much in the way of snow this evening except the high ground. Maybe some flakes in heavier bursts but ground is quite warm.

Tuesday is looking interesting next week, short lived but fairly potent N/NW blast.
as the charts stand frontal rain turning to snow and showers through the Cheshire gap?- 3

Gorgeous heavy fluffy snow. Stick to surfaces but not roads. About half an inch on the grass so far.

Some pretty decent moderate snow the last hour. Got about 1cm on surfaces away from the roads.

We can get battered from convective showers from the east, but frontal events are far more fickle.
2013 was a big learning curve for me to honest, I now always temper my expectations when the wind is from an easterly quarter and we have precipitation coming in from the SW. There will be times when the shadow is less prevalent but it seems to be a fairly reliable topographic weather phenomenon, annoyingly.
Comparing the MetO forecasts for Liverpool/Leeds/Sheffield to Manchester tomorrow is a right shame.
Anyway I’ll stop moaning now and just wait and see. Looks good for a fair few of us.
2013 was interesting here. We got a lot of snow in saddleworth, while a few miles further towards Manchester, almost dry.

Some nice light snow coming down. Stick to the grass and trees but not the paths and roads.

Looks like that's it for the snow chances for awhile...a slow creeping advance of milder conditions for us in the west.... might a cloudy high. Not the most inspiring stuff weather wise. Had a few dustings but still way short of my foot fall deep of snow witnessed 3 times between 2009-11... nothings come near it since.
It’s such a shame. I’m sure we will get big snowfalls again at some point, but the wait between them looks like getting longer.

Freezing fog most of the day, some lovely rime forming on vegetation above 200m. First snow shower passed through half an hour ago, have a little dusting.

Struggling to get any lower than -8.3°C, so don’t think we will get -10°C tonight but still impressive cold

Wasps are actually valuable pollinators too and they hunt a lot of garden pests to feed their larvae. Believe it or not, not all wasps readily sting. Interestingly one of the most docile wasps in the UK is the European Hornet, they don’t tend to sting unless you bother them near their nest
