A dissapointing day today, cloudy and damp with a high of 9.2C, and its not even been that windy F4-6 throughout today with a top gust of 46mph.

What a boring day, cloudy with drizzle and a high of 6.9C at sunset and still rising.

My friend had to drive over the Saddleworth Moors this morning and said there was some heavy snow up there for a time but not much settled.

If only it was a degree or 2 colder, its 2.8C and its raining heavily. The wind has also picked up 21mph up to yet gusting to 40 every now and again.

Well now i look around about 50% of the trees are bare and all of them I can see are in colour, I havent been out and about for ages as Ive been ill, apart from yesterday when I went to the shops but it was dark.

Well things have really come along in the last few weeks, 90% of trees around here have changed colour with not a hint of green and 20% of those are almost bare now.

Well it's quite calm now after that wild night the top gust being 71mph, well anyway the suns just about peeking through the clouds creating dramatic skys. At 7.00 this morning it was 8.8°C but as the sun rose the temp dropped currently 7.4°C, dewpoint 4.1°C, pressure 998.8 hPa.

We had an almost wintry shower before, well it was just rain mixed with a bit of small hail really when it was 4.3C, now 4.0C and still cloudy.

Ye i think your right John the metoffice says: Moderate or heavy snow accompanied by winds of 30 m.p.h. or more, with visibility reduced to 200 m or less; or drifting snow giving rise to similar conditions.

Been very dull here with spots of light rain every now and then, max temp today 10.3°C now down to 9.6°C.

I seem to remeber that one year, it was the day before halloween I think that one morning i woke to several inches. Is this related? I cant remember the year but I can remember the channel 4 news talking about barmy weather in different parts of the country.
