guys and gals, this chart has potential for a prolonged cold spell.

the showers should get right across the country, the clouds are racing across the sky. due to the strong westerly winds.

woke up to a covering of snow here. big anvil clouds to my west.

the wind is picking up, sign of things to come.

That model thread is real depressing! Lol. We are looking at a week long NW/N Yet some people are still looking the holy grail! I can wait for this to hit Wednesday!
yes ronan and by god it's gonna come like a bat out of hell on wednesday.

Storm probably a good idea to dismiss that chart saying it is a week and a half away. Get this first blast midweek out of the way then see how we stand then. Save that chart then see how it changes over the next week. I for one would be happy with a week long cold spell. Even this upcoming cold spell popped up out of nowhere so maybe it will break down and maybe it won't. We shall see.
ah yeah, all the caveats apply.I don't get sucked into daily chart runs anymore. main focus wednesday evening ready at the lamp posts and radars.

hmm, ecm 12z not as good as 00z. only one run though.
-850hpa line gets lifted out of Ireland repeatedly and cold spell comes to an end earlier. only one run, could be upgrades in the morning, hopefully.

Lol just release your inner child. My last snowfall didn't stick around long but if we see snow this week then it could stick around quite a while.
certainly hope so, snow is very welcome any day on our wee island.

Oh I will buddy. To be honest I was more than happy with what we got the.last time. It was more or less 24 hours of snow. This is looking better though!
yes it has potential to be a prolonged cold spell, time to build up the reserves of energy and tbh i'm glad we had a break between these cold spells, it really knackers ya esp when hitting middle age. lol.

Could be a countrywide event but NW probably getting pasted! IMBY! Lol

snow showers packing in, in a strong north westerly wind, most likely with elevation but to lower levels progressively, -5hpa line sweeping over the entire country by as early as thursday morning.
http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1201.gif
more wintry showers blowing down on a northerly wind, all be it with elevation.
http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm1682.gif
snow showers down west, north and east coasts at low levels.
http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Recm2402.gif
sweet chart, north and east getting packets of showers with that. -10hpa line into scotland.
a calculated brief guess there, correct if wrong.

A person called EML Record, one or two others also mentioned NI as well Storm
sound pom. really encouraging to say the least.

This has to be the best post of the winter so far!! Lol. Quality stuff!
personally I have seen enough evidence to really not care either way as IMBY I won't see snowfall from anything other than an Easterly, if you live along the East Coast of England then I'd be getting excited about this, if you're in N.ireland I'd be getting my snow shovels ready
who posted that ronan?
