  1. Noticed a drop in the worst of the wind speeds. XC and Met office last night where forecasting over 100 mph now coming under that.
  2. Looking at XC and Met office they have eased down a little on the highest gusts they are expecting last night they where going for over 100 mph today its more between 80 to 90 mph.
  3. I have an unease about this one. Lets see what tomorrow brings.

  12. I dont think we should at all under estimate Tuesday for a starters some very heavy rainfall and winds are forecast from a number of sources to be near 70 mph. Plus heavy rainfall tricky driving conditions from around 5 till 11 am. Of course Wednesday is the main event.

CNES Press Release - 8 December 2013 Agencies On Weather Alert The multi-agency Emergency Planning Group for the Western Isles, WIEPCG, met today to discuss the severe weather forecast for the Islands from Tuesday 9 December to Thursday 11th December. The Met Office have issued a Yellow Alert of Wind valid from 21:00 on Tue, 09th Dec 2014 until 06:00 on Thu, 11th Dec 2014. A flood alert has also been issued for the Western Isles : ‘This alert is for coastal flooding. Very high waves are expected to affect the area from Tuesday morning. Exposed coastal areas including roads, causeways and low lying properties may be at risk from flooding due to wave overtopping particularly during periods of high tide.’ Police and CnES Roads will be monitoring Uist causeways and The Brà ighe in Lewis. The severe weather may cause further disruption to services. Updates will be provided via the Public Information section of the Comhairle’s website including any school closures or disruption to transport.   14. SEPA have a flood alert out for us. All eyes now wait to see what exact track this system will take as to how bad it will get.
  15. Im watching this closely in the Western Isles, has the hallmarks of a monster but a lot can can and will change
  16. Been chopping and changes with the models but next weekend looks wild wither way
