I too am a fan but yesterday our somerset garden was struck by CG & ball lightening as a storm passed overhead I was observing by a window of my small music studio and had just advised my hubby to close the windows downstairs. The strike was incredible and luckily only blew out our broadband wireless box. I got a strike something that I can only describe as a hammer blow to my right arm nearest a window and static fizzle! Thankfully I had observed the early storm warnings otherwise I would have had the door to the studio shut and my headphones on. Scared I most certainly was and today a little jumpy. Please storm watchers If you are logged online or using wireless Please remember to switch your modems off. I had just disconected the computer to battery power and switched off and can only deduce that a lot of electrical charge entered my room via a gap in the window as I was not touching anything electrical at the time. Also remember to take care if you are taking photos, I nearly got a direct hit last winter whilst filming and that strike was again over our garden and looked like a nuclear bomb blast on film.
