Rob Mcelwee on the bbc news24 still says that wed night into Thurs , due the the area of rain moving north into cold air and over cold ground it will fall as snow, and the graphics show a large area of white of central and east anglia, and he also added that this period of snow could be 'substantial'. check it out. Any thoughts ?

I consider myself an experienced NOVICE. My position in west cambs, 18m asl, means we miss out on almost all snow events. We did get a covering but only alittle this week, and im now getting excited at the increased ramping for the next event. Havent got a clue how to read the charts, so im asking if anyone could help and either totally dismiss or confirm a snow event in my area in the coming days. Im in St.Neots right on the A1, 25 miles south of Peterborough. Would really appreciate if someone could have a look for me and advise me of any chances. Can anyone help.? Many thanks.

Hi Mark, i know that we in Cambs often miss out. And I was working in Watford earlier and the snow was very deep, but we always miss out. It was light snow here an hour ago, and thought it was about to turn to rain, but it swung back to snow, and has been heavy now for over half hour. Hope you get it as well....

Heavy Snow falling in st neots, west Cambs - on the A1. Gutted to hear thats its raining in suffolk - must mean that it will be raining here soon, - but not just yet..!!!

still snowing here in west Cambs, has been fine snow for about an hour, but has pepped up again and now snowing quite heavily again. thaw had set in on paths and roads though.

Thats made me sooooooooo excited reading that. It seems that although we are 50 miles north up the A1 from Londons heavy overnight snow, it appears that we in West Cambridgeshire should see some heavy snowfall later this afternoon. I cant wait. Bring it on - and please dont downgarde..!!

just woke and hoped to be snowed in.....but as i live in snowless cambridgeshire, we have a slight covering and is not snowing. only good news is i have to drive to watford soon, so i think i'll see more then. hopeful of some later when the band of snow moves through.. anyone close to me with more lying snow ?

just a couple of showers during the afternoon. nothing much. as expected, here in cambs, just clear and cold. it will miss us yet again, i have no doubt.

Hi everyone. Getting excited now, just wish it was this time 2morrow. Im in St Neots, west Cambridgeshire, and although we always, and i mean always miss out, im feeling confident that i will see snow showers at the very least. Talk of 5 - 10 cm just doesnt happen where i am, but im the keenest lamp post watching in town. Ive read the models theads and they say rain on mon night into tues, so pinning all hopes on sun/mon daytime. If anyone thinks that i will be ok for some decent snow, please feel free to send me to bed happy. :blush:
