Is south surrey going to see any snow today or are we going to continue with the clear blue skys that we've had for the last three days. It looks increasingly like its gonna be a kent event. Bloody NE winds, never get anything from them
-
lastest BBC forcast showed some Snow sat night, but nothing for our region on Sunday. Downgrade?
-
Downgrade for London? Barely two hours ago it was all sorted??
Where did you see that?
-
moderate shower here. doesnt look like its going to amount to much though
-
A light/moderate shower in Haslemere. Wasnt expecing that but a few showers are showing up for surrey on the radar http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
-
Im in Sutton thats just in Surrey but it's also in south west London confusing either way not a lot going on here at the moment cloudy and cold
Yep, same here. Surrey never does very well from a north easterly though. London seems to deflect the showers to the north or south, or just goble them up

Well for a start I dont take any notice of the Metcheck forecast, its rubbishAll, what's the consensus about this weeked's supposed event? The various sites/forecasters seem to have no clue as to what is happening:
Metcheck are forecasting heavy rain for tomorrow and sleet on Sunday.
The Beeb and Sky are ramping it up to be a major snow event every forecast.
Meto have orange warnings for Sussex and Kent
NW has the PPN type being snow all through to Monday but the PPN chance charts show a decrease to 60% on Sunday.
This is a tad confusing
Anyone got any ideas?

is anyone on this forum from Surrey, or is it all Essex and Kent. Just an observation.
-
Judging by that photo the other day you have had tons already. I was going to drive down this weekend just to look at it
Still got a foot, but hey im greedy!!
-
BBC havent really mentioned Surrey being in the mix on Sunday. Are we going to be missing the main event?
-
Can someone please tell me if Surrey is due any snow on sat-monday. Every forcast I watch is different
-
latest bbc n24 forcast has totallly back tracked on showers for today and tomorrow in south east, as they have done for the last three days. essex and kent coasts should still do well, but not much inland according to them
-
following the radar sequence the 'sunday' snow doesnt even make it to the UK now?

Just went to the local waitrose here in Haslemere, they opened at 1 due to powercut. It was complete carnage n there, people fighting for milk and bread, the shelves are bare now. 1 and a half foot here and no sign of thawing, cars abandoned everywhere.

god you lot are a bunch of pesmists arent you

Some pics from Haslemere, surrey. Taken today. over 1ft of snow over 26 hours of snow
-
Sorry about size. A view from my front room
-
Still snowing here, and has been since 5pm yesterday. over 1 ft now, amazing
Haslemere, Surrey

Surrey Hants border and into Berkshire are having the best of the snow at the moment
-
For my part of Surrey this isn't quite as amazing as people were suggesting. I still love it though and any snow is a bonus! Certainly doubt we'll have staggering totals. I'd say we have 5cms. What I've noticed is that the snow has been sliding off cars and our conservatory roof. Also, around the edges on the patio there is also a thaw. Some parts of the road are also patchy. This didn't happen in Decembers fall, so temps must be slightly higher then that night.
Interesting to see how things look in the morning!
Where in Surrey are you?
-
I cant be arsed to get out of bed and measure, but id say from looking at the cars/wheely bins that one more hour of snow at the rate its been falling and we will have a foot.

:drinks:Hammering it down again, we are really in the firing line tonight, if it carrys on like this till the morning (which it looks like it might), we may reach the totals predicted by the Met.

Is this band going to stay in Kent for the rest of my life, cause it seems like it. You guys must have had about 72 hours of continuous showers.
