    Wind direction seems to have changed here in south essex, a lot more dark clouds starting to build up now perhaps we may be lucky after all Leigh Shrimper.

    Temp starting to fall quickly now from 3.4c to 2.0c in just under a hour, hopefully it will continue that way coupled with a few showers and you never know!

    Not sure if my weather station is playing up but I am getting -1.8 but have cloud cover, it seems all around have clear skies.

    I have now got the most amazing lightning show going on at the front of my house and sunshine at the back, the rain has stopped and theres not a breath of wind in the air, what a finish to the day!

    Well that is some of the most heavy rain i have also ever seen in my life, the roads are flooded and the sirens are now going, all the time constant cracks of thunder!

    Thats the one, in all my 30 years i have never seen a advancing rotating cloud front like that!

    Little belter coming my way in south essex, lightning every 10 seconds!!

    Coming down nicely now in central southend, was a bit worried about temps but does not seem to be a problem, plenty of dark clouds rolling in!

    Can confirm we have had moderate to heavy rain in leigh and southend for the past two hours with lightining and thunder every few minutes, so the south essex thunderstorm drought has ended.
