There’s an element of south east movement to the showers so most of West Yorkshire will probably miss out. If it was straight west to east then we would be in the game....
-
After a couple of hours of moderate snow, just about managed a covering on cars and grass. The heaviest precipitation never reached here.....
-
The heaviest precipitation is now in South Yorkshire/East Midlands...Could be really good for you guys....
-
It'll be interesting to see which areas get the combination of the heaviest precipitation and the snow....

The heaviest precipitation is moving East very quickly???

The white blob of precipitation on the radar is very close by here!

Just popped into the SE regional thread. Looks like being a general failure for snow there bar certain areas with elevation.....

Typically the first band was patchy when it reached here then suddenly intensified straight after moving on
-
I tell you what though, looking at the precipitation on the radar, there are some really bright colours over Ireland atm...

Wow. What an amazing day. Ended up with 12cm at my elevation
A big shout out to Kasim and Scott! Their knowledge and input was very much appreciated.
But not to forget the likes of Cheese Rice and The PIT; who may have had differing opinions, but nonetheless their input is invaluable on this forum.
Onwards to the next few inches (and more!).....

Average snow depth of 10cm so far. Max depth of 12cm on grass. Still snowing. Thin fine, but fairly moderate.....

Light snow now here. Unless there’s a more westward shift and intensification, then I would think it’ll be light now onwards....
-
Got 8cm so far. At about 150m ASL
-
Just gone outside of the green band on the radar. But still snowing moderately....
-
Been moderate snow here generally. Could’ve done with bigger flakes. But that’s probably being greedy

Met Office had me down for snow at 7am. That’s not bad forecasting at all!!

For me the models almost always underestimate the strength of the block. And get found out on the day.....
