Really not liking the look of tomorrows rain now here are some pics of my garden at the weekend..
Surrey,
You might wish to check out this link. http://www.jungleseeds.co.uk
If you do a search you will find they sell several types of rice seed.

Personally find If it rains more user friendly on a smaller screen. Seems that Net Weather is either for a browser or android device. Each to his own. Good to keep checking out what is available. Thanks for your comments. The Netweather snow radar app is free. That's the one i have

The Will it Rain app for my ipad and iphone seems to be working fine. They have also just brought out Snow Radar for UK, which seems to be quite good. Pleased I can give it a test run with current weather. Have to pay for the apps but only £1.69 each. Far cheaper than a pint of beer and much longer lasting.Heh the netweather radar is not having a good day. 10:00 LOADS of rain, 10:10 LOADS of rain, 10:15 onwards few tiny specks of rain. I did manage to get a 10:45 image just now but it's gone again.

Not a cunning plan so you can record numbers for RSPB's Bird Watch? I just shoot everything I see and then tot the numbers up at the end. Only joking!!My birds make me laugh, they are so like inquisitive children, Southernman left an empty cardboard shoe box on the table ready to take it to the recycling bin, when he came back, the birds were sitting in it, cooing. We didn't have the heart to remove them so they've got a new toy now.

Crash bang wallop. Squall passing through.

Interestingly Blue Tits have started checking out the nest boxes in my garden. I ponder which models they follow.
-
Seems the pantomime crowd on the models thread are mainly saying "Oh yes it will" with some saying "Oh no it won't".

All seems great to me. Heating cost way down. Roll on Spring and sowing seeds.
Couple of days of unexpected snow ok if it comes along. Model watching won't improve anything.

Not sure why but so far has not been anything other than pretty windy here. Obviously been fortunate.

So far not much wind or rainfall here (7mm). How much have other people had?
-
Had one very short power outage. Bearing in mind that someone has to fart round here and our power goes off not too bad.

Just got back after a trip up to Southwold to take my mum out for a Christmas lunch on the pier. Sea quite rough and wind fairly strong.
Very good reasonably priced 3 course lunch plus coffee and mince pie.
Although not pleasant conditions on journey not too bad. Glad to be home though

There is other news apart from the sad departing of Nelson Mandela. Why oh why do we have to have it on a rolling loop? It is not exactly a surprise.
I expect that the BBC is sending at great expense reporters to South Africa to stand outside somewhere he might have been and tell us nothing new.

I'm back to Colchester hospital tomorrow for one of a lot of check ups following the removal of my prostate due to aggressive cancer. I cannot speak for anyone else but for me the care there has been exceptionally good. So I am happy to give praise where it is due.

Is this the same freeze we were promised last month?
-
Was suppose be doing scrub clearance as a volunteer for National Trust today. Don't mind it being damp but none too keen on getting saturated. Bit difficult getting a bonfire going, which is the best part.

Not particularly note worthy here. Did not seem to be too much rain and apart from a squally bit that went through just before 8.00am not much in the way of wind.
Having said that still suffering a power cut that started during the squall. We seem to have quite frequent power cuts here. Only takes a fart from an employee of the electricity board for our power to go off.
Unfortunately have had to retire to a restaurant and have forced down steak and chips. Would have much preferred Sunday lunch's left overs.

Just north of Chelmsford. Starting to rain. Not very heavy.

Just got back from Hastings. Most unpleasant drive but fortunately no particular hold ups.
Just lit fire, wound central heating up, poured a nice drink and settled in a comfy chair.
