  1. Wait until it's drifting too and you can't see anything at all. Quite ridiculous -8 point something already here.
  2. Temperatures plummeted at dusk but more steady now at -5.6C There's about 8" of powder snow; with clear skies and little wind a perfect set up for low temperatures in the valley.

  4. We've had more snow since midnight than all yesterday here, there's about 6 inches lying. Brighter skies moving in from the east. It may get above freezing for a while.
  5. It was fairly clear round ,midnight and got down to -2.8C, then snow showers returned later and it's just below freezing now. Seems to have been a further 2" or so.

Without even clicking that it has clearly been manipulated. You neatly sidestepped the other unfortunate historical events before the Spaniards stole the gold from the Incas. How about the Black Death wiping out more than half the population for a start. Those Crusaders were quite naughty.. Ghenghis Khan was a bit of a sod too.

So the end of the world started about 1492, previously all was sweetness and light, and a model we should go back to. You know, I can think of a few problems with almost everything about that.

    Lion Inn 2005

From the album: North York Moors Weather

The colour balance always was a bit wonky on this as it was foggy and nearly dark - good candidate for arty effects.

  10. It is slightly white here now, thought it must be as temp has suddenly gone down below 1C
  11. Brief light showers of proper dry snow since 11am, it's 3C though so not lying and a light cover on the hills has all but gone too. Some nice sunny spells with great visibility.
  12. Light sleety showers just now and some blue sky between rather than continuous gloom - a colder look.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulhudson/ How is it that 'Natural Cycles' are powerful enough to effectively stop warming for 20 years, but cannot be the reason for warming in the previous 20 years? These 'Natural Cycles' must be rather clever and mischievous. Any downward movement is explained by 'natural cycles' but upward movement must be due to CO2. It just won't do, it really won't. Expect more climb downs trickling out but it will be like pulling teeth and will take years.
  17. That is inaccurate, scroll down to the CS2, download and install, then register with the serial.

And they thought we'd like to read it through the holidays, nothing to do with hoping no one would notice a Christmas Eve release.

Look a lefty person with sceptic comments! Is that allowed? We have been told you must be some sort of rampant right wing capitalist to think this way. He even hints at the Met Office being a bit sneaky....

It's still a major ..well...admission really. It will like as not still prove rather conservative and need further tweaking downwards. So 'Alarmist' really was a very good term.
  21. Adobe are (temporarily?) are effectively giving away CS2 - it is an older version but still very capable http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html You need the serial number they give to register it, well worth doing so you can update.
  22. After another spell of gentle rain late afternoon temperatures are falling steadily now. Wind has gone round to the NW
