Missed again. Amber too far north. 10cm low ground typical really.
Again? Didn't you get about 4 inches on Friday?!

Well I'm at 87m asl east of Leeds and I'm not really expecting any lying snow on Thursday, maybe some falling snow. However, if any people should be aware of how unpredictable snow can be, it should be us lot after last Friday! So I will be keeping an eye on things over the next 24-36hrs and hoping we can "do a Harrogate"!

I’m not to sure it’s a BANK as yet although I want it to be, however worth keeping an eye on it as it’s very marginal but we could end up been on the right side of it, but let’s see
Yeah sorry I meant bank as in "I'd like to bank that one"!

I think this sums up yesterday's event for me On the plus side I detoured on my way home from work and went up through Bradford and round the outer ring road north of Leeds, incredible scenes up to about 5 miles from home, just a dusting here. Hope there's a more widespread dumping to be had in the coming weeks!

Turned to snow in cleckheaton with the heavier echos now here but not settling. I bet the likes of Birstall and Bradford are getting pounded right now. Slight hint of southeast movement in the edge of the band too which may be something to cling to.

BBC breakfast forecast still showing snow for the rest of the day. Hope they know something we don't.
SPOILER: they don't!

Turned to sleet in cleckheaton now so maybe some hope for those higher up!

Set off early for work, thinking the roads might be bad further west lol! Anyway, rain/sleet rain between Garforth and Tingley (M62 J28). A dusting of wet snow at Tingley with sleet falling. Snow at Birstall IKEA junction 27 with a covering of wet snow 1 or 2cm but looks very pretty. A-roads a bit dicey around Birkenshaw with a dusting of snow (less than 1cm) and falling light to moderate snow. Now in cleckheaton and its light rain/sleet. Snowline then is roughly 150-200m in West Yorkshire depending on intensity. What a bust!

It's raining again here and the radar looks like, if anything, it's shifting even more westwards in the short term. So far it's summing up this cold spell... Close to being good, but never quite making it!

Seems to have turned to light snow here in the last half hour, hard to tell as its small flakes, bit at the very least it's sleeting. However this (here at least) is so far a letdown. Seems to all be sliding southwest instead of south so far. No doubt though that if it was heavier, it would be decent so hoping it peps up/moves more due south shortly.

Just light rain here but I look to have been right on the southeast edge of the band so far. Any reports from the M62 corridor Leeds to Bradford cos that's where I'll be heading at 5am?

It's bloody raining! Why is it doing that?

So this just happened in cleckheaton from a blue sky!

Just driven from Garforth to work at Cleckheaton, wet snow on and off throughout, best around Birstall but no settling. Started as rain at home before turning to this as I left. Looks like that's it, the streamer appears to be setting up shop well to the north after this mini band crossing west Yorkshire.

Sleet in a shower just now, which is promising. 85m asl east of Leeds.

Latest country file forecasts shows very little precipitation this week in our area tbh
Well if anyone is going to forecast no snow for us, I'm glad it's the BBC. They were forecasting rain showers yesterday whilst snow was falling throughout the region! Hopefully someone on here can have a look at the high resolution precipitation models and let us know how they're looking!

Good post thanks for the update.
Reports that Hull is having snow.
Need confirming.
If it really is snowing in Hull, surely everywhere will be snow!?

Hang on, did a load of posts just disappear? Anyway, Mark my words.... South Yorkshire for streamers, them southerners always nicking my snow!

I'll answer my own question, the heavy part of this current shower turned to sleet with some decent flakes mixed in. I'm at approx 85m asl so I would have thought proper snow above 200m, certainly above 250-300m.

Anyone getting snow/sleet out of the current showers? Cold rain here. I'm intruiged by the Yorkshire band of localised heavy snow the BBC mentioned this morning for Monday/Tuesday. Anyone got any clue where it will be? Past experience leads me to guess at Sheffield. We don't seem to do well for streamers in West Yorkshire

Yeah so I personally am not that confident of seeing lying snow in my locations (Garforth - home and Cleckheaton - work) but would think I'll see something falling. Everything just seems a bit marginal with the dew points and likely precipitation intensity. I reckon Pennine parts plus the far northeast of the region will do well, east of the A1 on the low ground may struggle. Of course, as we found out last Friday, anything is possible really so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the radar and this forum! Good luck everyone, pictures please if you get lucky!
