  1. Chill out, just because my opinion doesn't tie in with yours doesn't mean I'm not entitled to express it. I'm not trying to wipe the event away, just saying that in my opinion it won't be anything like as severe as has been forecast. And yes, forecasters and weather models can get it wrong from time to time.

Say the stuff your saying in 4 hrs time and il agree with you. right now no, because it was never going to be snow until after 3. The front is a little ahead of scheldule but the cold undercutting is still going to happen

  2. Toatally agree, I'm surprised my noose joke was removed, humour is obviously not allowed when it comes to snow as even the mods are snow biased!!! Anyway back on topic, the frontal band is edging ever closer with snow flurries reported in Aberdare and Llantrisant, rain edging into Swansea and Port Talbot. I should go to bed but this is riveting. No widespread change in temps as yet with air temps around 4-5C and dew points 0-2C around the coasts but lower inland.

Your picture and joke was kinda sick tbf

  3. Temperatures and dew points are falling. Precipitation is nearing. We are on a RED ALERT! Seriously people stop being so negative. Look at Met Office forecast and NAE, temps we're always predicted to be this high at the current time before plummeting around 2-3am. This is the most promising event for Wales since 2010 maybe 1982? Just enjoy it. weather will do what it wants but it looks promising to me.

  4. Thanks, that's encouraging. It's always marginal here on the coast.

NAE has temps falling to 0c or below across pretty much the whole of Wales by 6am

does anybody else find themselves with the feeling ........"i know its coming, i know its going to happen and when I wake up its going to be a winter wonderland" but i still cant believe it?

    Yes

  5. Working from home tommorrow morning but got to get to the Drs about 4pm. If the trains have stopped running down the Valley (which I suspect will be pretty much inevetable) going to have to walk about 4 miles through the worst of it tommorrow afternoon - not looking forwrad to that at all.

My mums a carer, in Dec 2010 the only way she could get around was by train so you never know. We had about 14inches of snow then. My mum is dreading this snow as she'll have to walk many miles every day to make sure her customers are okay (heating on, food etc). Hopefully the trains will still be operating so it makes it a bit easier for her. She went and put winter tires on her car this year and its a big car so she might be alri in a little bit of snow but I don't even think her car would be able to get through what we're gonna be experiencing tomorrow. Good luck anyway! I'm staying wrapped up in bed tomorrow watching through the window and taking pictures:)
