  1. UK Outlook for Saturday 2 Feb 2008 to Monday 11 Feb 2008: Chilly at first with northwesterly winds and wintry showers across northern parts perhaps even snow to low levels here with strong to gale force winds. Drier and brighter in the south with lighter winds, but cold. Frosty in many places overnight. Milder weather will return to many parts on Sunday with heavy rain at times across northern and western hills, possibly wintry over high ground of the north. Drier in the south. Continuing unsettled through Monday to Wednesday with rain at times and strong to gale force winds. Mild in the south, perhaps some wintry showers in the north. Later in the week conditions look like becoming more settled once more with largely dry conditions in the south, and perhaps some rain at times in the north with southwesterly winds. 2. UK Outlook for Sunday 20 Jan 2008 to Tuesday 29 Jan 2008: It now looks like plenty of cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread up from the south across most parts next Sunday with more showery weather in the far north. There are indications that the weather should then become rather more settled next week, especially across England and Wales, with high pressure building from the southwest expected to bring largely dry conditions through the rest of the week, although overnight frost and fog are likely. Further north conditions are expected to remain more unsettled with a brisk westerly flow bringing cloud and spells of rain, especially in the west. Temperatures should be around normal to mild generally, but it may become cooler in the south later in the period. 3. UK Outlook for Tuesday 25 Dec 2007 to Thursday 3 Jan 2008: A mild but rather breezy westerly type will dominate, especially across Scotland and Northern Ireland, where there may be gales on some days, whilst southern areas see some settled interludes with lighter winds. This at times rather changeable weather will continue through much of the period, particularly in the north, where rain could turn to sleet or snow over the mountains at times, but with sunshine and showers in-between systems. The best of the drier, sunnier spells will be in the south and east of the United Kingdom, although there will be some rain in these parts too, notably early in the period. Temperatures will be mostly near normal, with frosts possible in all areas, but with the main frost risk occuring between passing weather systems.
