GFS 00z falls in line with the ECM
-
Total amateur here but find the topic interesting
Can the warming you're referring to be seen here as the red colours trying to push into the arctic from siberia at the end of the animation.
Also..this is caused by the high pressure currently over Russia?

Updated 21st December 2010
I like tracking the cooling temps with that link.
Will you be updating throughout the winter?

This is from the link i posted above

Heres a good link for looking at snow coverage. It allows you to zoom in and out also which is handy

Poor decision by the BBC . Rob was a very good forecaster who made the wintery forecasts particularly enjoyable.

Am i correct in my observation that all 3 models look good for snow starved Ireland?
If they materialised that is

Dare i say...GFS 144 looks quite ECM like
-
Yikes- That ECM 192 chart is something else!!
-
As a result of this it will pick up it's ball and sit in the corner sulking. Clearly this would mean that there would be no weather to discuss whatsoever
Am i reading this correctly?
There is a danger of no weather at all next week?
I thought i was going to be putting the finishing touches to my igloo next friday...

Looks like a powerful North Easterly is about to kick the door in

Rampety Ramp..this cold spell is almost locked in

ECM 192 is beautiful

I'll take this

Will settle for that ECM, its alot better than the 0z so trending the right way

A suggestion that has been bought up for this year is to create a model summary thread, whereby posts will be limited to a summarisation of people's thoughts on the latest run with limited discussion of those thoughts, so that those who want to can use it to catch up on the latest runs much more quickly than they would be able to in the normal model thread, so please let us know your thoughts on this.
Sounds like a good idea to me but my worry would be that it would be dragged down with the same nonsense that populates the model thread.
If it was looked after and said posts were deleted by mods it would be an efficient way of catching up with the model output.
