True, but the late october event started off as lots of rain which turn to snow and settled ending up ing a couple of inches.

The latest weather forcast from the bbc did show alot of back edge snow for us in the south east! Not all hope is lost.....

those of us london southwards have been bruised from being just a little too warm on the last 2 snow events on thursday/friday. however its too early to write us off for monday night. lets just wait and see

Lets just hope this channel low moves southwards as we approach monday night. IF it were to trach more southwards we could have a pasting!

No evidence as such, as we havent had a GFS run that goes for it further South...UKMO and ECM alot more promising. Its merely a hunch that with the GFS, more times than not, the lows tend to be progged slightly too far north which would suggest to me subsequent runs will shift it south. Not gteed, just as you put it 'instinct' Its really gonna be a situation where we have to see reports and look at radar to see what latitude the low is coming in on

I actually think the low will come in further south...which would be good for alot more..but even as the GFS progs as has been pointed out this will readily turn to snow. Not have the ppn around has been the downfall here, so with something like this (thankfully) that isnt the problem..just dont wanna be on the marginal side, want a dumping.!

Do you have any evidence for this or is it just instinct?

THe channel low that comes through on monday looks like it could turn into back edge snow for a time of tuesday. Could anyone confirm this for me?

Looks like the actual low is moving due east, so I think the south eastern corner will fare best for snow tonight. Icy elsewhere!!

i have been looking at the net weather radar and it shows the preciation head north east, so it has a slight chance of hitting us.

The gfs has been poor lately for me. It was predicding rain for me last night yet i woke up with a covering (very slushy though). On monday it said the snow would turn to rain but it stayed as snow through out. So i believe i shall get snow tonight, also, the temp is 1.6 and dropping steadily.
