Yeh these differences are normal. Some places would have seen 200% while others 25%. Just going by how the big boys do their stats.
We have had tons of rain here in SM6, ground still firm, but we are in summer.
As an island in a direct hit of the jet we will never regularly go into a drought unless the water companies keep failing us.
Big boys always take an average ...like warmest June warmest this warmest that...not a patch on last years temps is it or are we all looking for 40c now ..32 33c nothing now is it ..its summer ..but where I am its dry ..and its rained hard dont get me wrong ...but not what we or I would call wet ...and not wild fire dry but ...sort of nothing ..

Amazingly, half way through the year the SE is 106% to average rainfall. July is nearly 50% already with lots more rain to come.
This will be one very wet year if we keep going like this.
Dig an inch deep its dust ..or as hard as iron ..well imby ish and mostly se London..se is a big area fella ..all or nothing and tbh I've had nothing to speak of
And there's another batch of showers obviously connected to the a trough..front or something leaving nw France but so much ne push they gonna fly past south of me ..he says

Convergence zones ...orographic lift ? That's game over for Tonbridge.....we have the ingredients sometimes but not the cooker .. no lift nothing really high enough ..and convergence...even thats not overly sure on where to set up as Kent has so many its safer for a storm to stick to Surrey unless elevated...

It's been the same here , might hear the odd rumble of thunder in the distance but that's about it.
What Rouen ...lol ..if I could hear it would be good ..ours here on that trajectory is 10 to one unless proper elevated...Best storm this year funny enough came from north north west in May ...jacko from France..maybe little flicker in distance ..not over your head though ..
Brexit that what it is ..no taxes no storms mate ..grow your own ..
which here in Kent seems we are out on a limb ..peninsula some would say ..but again in the high stuff I've a twist in the tail

Well looks like everything has swung round me again ..you remember in cartoons when little black clouds followed people about lightning..etc always rained on them...like I guess a low person feels sometimes maybe a low pressure feels like that ..always kicking off storms or wind .and rain upsetting peoples day ..but they are everything to some
but not me ...around and around it goes ..

Aye, it's the usual dry squib over here. Had I not grown to expect such nothingness, I might have called it a 'bust'!
Least it watered the tomatoes and onions for today ..coz I'm banned from using hose pipe ..saves watering can today ..but its dry as bone again and it feels like there's more water vapour than droplets...and a storm well ..thats been knocked into the short brown grass for sure

Well that was a bit of a damp squib but least it was damp ..

Surely if we don't get something out of this we never will. One of the most perfect set ups I can remember a long yine. Virtually no wind humidity at a high percentage sun poking through the clouds. Just a perfect set up. Just want it to go Electrical and proper storms
I've had a couple of dollops or so in Orpington...everything so far has slid nw or died out there is a batch that is moving towards us, but ..and its a big but ..on our form so far

Much fresher today, I had to actually wear clothes for the first time in ages.
There's no need for that...even in imagination ...I like a little high cloud that spins dont you..? And a second for good measure ...if you could look back from above like say a satellite picture ..it would look like a tropical disturbance but upside side down

Maybe Putin is trying to plunge the UK into drought after all The only other rational explanation is witchcraft
The old saying is ..an old broom knows where the dirt is but a new one handles better in the air
A plane has just chopped up my high cloud..:( or a witch with a big yard broom lol

Amazing to think in this country many folks are missing rain.
just shows how notable the dry spell has been.
I think as a nation we are conditioned to frequent changes in the weather and struggle to comprehend a weather type that sticks around for many weeks.
Yes exactly ..looking at gfs.. not hi res models.. its pretty decent on rainfall..this latest one a tad east as Stroudley got 10mm but my part of of west Kent got jacko definatly not 10mm 2mm at best ,yet 250hrs out we still only have 4mm ..hope its wrong..

A decent spell of rain for us on the coast this afternoon. Dry now, but 10mm the total for today. After recent weeks, we'll take that.
10mm your lucky there...gfs says by 144hrs we will get our old East North easterly back ...let's hope Tuesdays rain pulls a better punch because it looks dry after that ..AGAIN
