  1. Yes its very humid maybe thats what's causing it, did u have a good blanket of snow to start with?

to be honeest i have found it got colder as the day has gone on and not hardley noticed any thaw, and if temps stay like this i think that cloud tomor will fall as snow, but i have seen it in the past that it comes in as rain when they expected snow, bwlch etc deff snow as it is much higher and colder.

just wait and see if it comes great if not kids go to school i win both ways lol

  2. Right thats it me and the kids av decided that we have not froze our you know whats off over the last 2 weeks and not aving lots of snow so we been out the back and danced on what snow we have left and our snow mans head fell off while doing it and i think that means we will have lots more soon to make a new head lol

i realy do feel in my guts and buy the way its quite big lol that we are going to have a big snow event some time this winter dont know why but just had this feeling for a long time in fact its been since 1982 lol.

even tho we cant talk much bout snow tonight still better than the tv

  3. Yes but adviories are for today and monday, warnings for Tuesday and Wednesday. Now may be i am an optamist but if Meto have issued new warnings after just retracting some today when they could get away with leaving them as advisories then i would say they must be fairly confident.

but maybe the warnings are so we go out shopping again and buy more food lol,i just think with the temp rising the risks are far less and also why give us these warnings in the first place if they could get away with advisories,as i said im no good at this game but i do think that our met office can be way off the mark compared to other countries.

  4. Do you ever get the feeling that this weather set up has got alot of the professional weather forecasters flumoxed simply because its a mix of what we have had over the last 10 years or so with what used to happen 20 - 30 - 40 years ago and the models are struggling to make sense of it leading the forecasters astray

I understand why the metoffice are giving warnings then retracting them its simply a case of the fluidity of the situation by tommorrow things will probably change and the general public should be made aware by these professionals what advisory's really mean a possibility and nothing more

you could be right as until late last night nearly everyone was saying light snow then heavy then very heavy (some even said blizzards)and then showers and remaining very cold, then 6 hrs later its much milder,no snow and every one seems to be down beat, how can they say looking good for snow and then in such a short space of time it changes, there may be a simple explanation for this but due to me not knowing anything about weather forcasting at all, i just read these sites etc and dont understand how things change so fast in this country, yet other countrys seem to be far more accurate, maybe its due to our postion with water all around us.

  5. it is much milder today +3 in ogmore vale but still - 2 up bwlch mountain and even though not snowing much up there if you drive towards abergwynfi it is awful condtions, the snow has blown off mountain and blocked roads very very large drifts,in fact we had to move down to lower level because it was very bitter and blowing snow dust everywhere,i think up there it will stick if it comes but down here does feel much milder than of late,i hope if we do get some the temp drops as i cant see it doing a lot with wet roads and warmish temps(well not warm but warmer lol) road to abergwynfi is closed and very hard to get over even in 4x4 going behind tractor. my kids keep saying dad will we get drifts like that down by the house and yest i was saying i think we may by tues night but looking less likely now lads and ladys what you think, i told them its only the begining we got lots of jan left and all feb but they want it now lol.

    kids in it.

  6. one thing i have noticed this morn is the gritters are out in force,if they think its only light snow, why would they be wasteing all this grit? and my mate just rang me who is in police force and he said they been warned for next 3 days.and he hates the white stuff and was moaning like hell lol.

lets just wait and see but any way going up bwlch at 10.15 so should be fun again lol.

  7. i myself think the met office bbc etc dont want anyone else being caught out this winter now due to it being so cold, and then over forcast until its here and then decide to down play it,

i been reading lots on here, and i myself think that this cold spell may just go away within a week from most of south wales,we are little to close to the south coast and very rare does it snow big time here,i did think yest that we may be lucky this time but now i think we wont get the dumpping at all.

hope im wrong but never mind i only got to drive a few miles and im up the bwlch and there is loads of the white stuff up there for the kids but it very cold up there to say the least but not in the car lol.

  8. Hi guys any idea when if? we get another good dumping of snow, been reading some say sat some sun and some say monday, is this about right?

my kids want to see it like it was on top of bwlch mountain today, very large deep drifts of snow but they could not stay out in it because the snow was being blown around something awful, the top road going to abergwynfi was amazing,no soon as the plough went through it filled back up with blizzard blown snow, most snow iv seen on the top for many years and kids want it down here lol.good couple of feet on the top.

  9. i dont think any of wales will see much in the way of snow tonight, i think it will be bad around oxford and as far west as maybe bristol, been watching a few diff weather sites and all say from newport accross but i also think they being carefull, sounds like oxford area etc could see very large amounts of snow up and above 40cm. my kids just come in and said they sent us home for this? not enough to make a snow ball and that be from whole garden lol,why send them home when there is nothing about? maybe they now sumin lol

  10. Haven't had much snow over night but looking at the radar and the current clouds some really beefy precip moving over Wales atm should see snow within the next half hour I would imagine. As for the bbc it will change by dinner time again don't be too disheartened.

Adam i just showed the kids your post and they all think your great lol i hope your correct coz they going to get you if your wrong lol.

bit of luck and we should be fine.

  11. BBC News forecast very poor for our areas just now - all the snow tonight is East of Newport and north - we were clear sad.gif

yes i just saw the same forecast and so did the kids they really not happy, shows most of Wales to miss all the snow, unless there is a shift of say 60 miles west we just going to be very cold and watch everyone else play in the snow lol.

  12. been swing for 10 mins but not sticking down here, but drove my 4x4 up bwlch mountain and didnt see the road sign saying closed wink wink but it is closed about 3 to 4 inches on the top and in fact it was quite diff getting to the top,and when showers come its snowing hard on the top. but that is quite high up,whats the chsnces for later and thing to come lower levels, my truck is showing 1 degree above right now,but shower start as snow then sleet but not enough to stick down here.

  13. HI All my first post on here been reading for a while but decided to give it a go, i think the temp is a little to high for snow right now, just hope it drops quite a bit over night,as tomor the temp will probs be around 5 to 6 here in ogmore vale.

but kids are hoping for some nice deep snow. what time is it supposed to be hitting out area?

and great site by the way.
