As is becoming the norm in recent years, a winter void of any meaningful Greenland blocking is being followed by some pretty strong blocking highs in April.
Maybe its sods law but im getting a feeling of deja vu here.
April is shaping up to be a poor month for anything warm and settled, the jet is going so far south even the canaries looks iffy certainly for the first half of the month !!
Bitterly disappointing for coldies seeing massive blocking and a southerly jet in April, even the south looks wet at times as the lows to the south do their thing.
Indeed, I am currently in Lanzarote and it's very unsettled and cool.

I'm in Peterborough and there is nothing falling out of the sky!
-
I for one hope that the 18z is on one as I don't really fancy being in Egypt next week with those kind of temperatures.

Glad to be in peterborough tonight! on and off since 7pm and accumulating nicely.

Finally something falling from the sky - unfortunately its light rain and temp has increased to 1.6c DP now -0.4c
I'll be off to sleep then!! Night all good luck for all pulling an all nighter. Think the ship has sailed (again!!)

Looks like the peterborough snow shield is up and running!!! (Sorry haven't updates my location for a while!)

Sleety/wet snow where I am in Peterborough at the moment. Is there more to come tonight? Can't stop looking out of the window. Hoping for a miracle after missing out on last nights action by about 10 miles

I'm so confused with all the different interpretations of the models. So, what is going on?!

Jamie it's looking just above freezing for the day but sharp frosts at night and some snow showers so should show the beauty of Prague off well, it always looks its best in the snow. Try and check out the Alcohol Bar as it is called in the Jewish district. The biggest selection of cocktails I have ever seen, the recipe book looks like War and Peace.
Thank you :-) can't wait now! Will make the Alcohol Bar a priority! May need warming up a tad so I hope they're strong )))

Hi everyone! I'm a bit of a lurker here- been reading and learning on here for about 8 years now but never feel brave enough to post because you guys are so knowledgeable and I don't want to look stupid!! Very interesting ECM and signs that GFS is on board too!! I'm not asking for a full in depth forecast but some advice really...
I'm off to Prague on Tuesday until Friday- romantic break and going to propose to my other half. I hoped and hoped that it would be a seasonal visit and it looks like I may have timed it well. BUT how cold am I looking at in Prague? I'm guessing it would be dry but can't really tell from the charts- after all this time! I would really appreciate some idea about what it might be like. Keep doing what you all do best- you're such a great bunch of talented people and I will continue to enjoy this site (and all the tears of joy and heartbreak!) for many years to come.
Cheers Jamie :-)
P.s did post this in model ramp discussion but v quiet in there!!
