Slept right through it, must have been the marble sized hail that waking me up for a few seconds.
-
Same here at the moment, some sort of snow at last.
Looks to be making it over the pennines then and not loosing much of its force which will be good for those in the East.
Unfortunetely it doesn't appear to be sticking here, the hail has turned to slush and its not making good conditions for sticking.
-
a lot of snow here at the moment, not sticking though, melted hail making it bad, if the hail would have lasted a little longer, could have some more accumulation.
-
OK - A lot of people have been saying its snow here when it really hasn't. I have a north facing bedroom window and it kept waking me up it was that bad.
I see the metoffice have put out a weather warning for the north west with chances of further wintry showers.
Anyway better get back on topic.

Heavy hail all night, I can't see any evidence of snow. All there is, is a dusting of hail giving at most a cm.
Interesting to see Cheshire got an inch of snow.
Am I the only one to just get hail? It just looked like polystyrene sheet on my car this morning as its all stuck together, only pellets of hail though, none of this golf ball stuff.

Need a lamppost to verify these things and even then its hard to know the composition. The key is watching how it falls.

Another hailstone shower here. Very windy.

apologies for posting so late, went out at 1pm on christmas day and have just returned home after taking a trip to Crewe on Boxing Day after stopping over at someones house on christmas day, finding out the crewe v burnley match was cancelled an hour after arriving and stayed in Northwich.
Anyway as you've probably seen from the other threads the snow got quite heavy in the afternoon on the 25th leaving an inch or so of snow. That's it really for snow in the area. about 1cm or so is still left on the grass in the garden. Ice starting to melt from the trees.
-
been out for an hour or so and snow showers on and off just like in the photos. I'm off out soon for the night, christmas lunch, christmas drink and then christmas sleep. Taking my camera as I'll be 200 m higher than I am now.

after the snow at midday, which melted, had numerous hail showers, the most severe this morning in the early hours.
Is it me or are we having a lot more hailshowers than normal?
