1. Too clichéd and grainy for me to buy into it. Plus nothing else has been mentioned if it was that "sensational" it would have made the news before. I call bull.
2. Boomerang my head back to the city I grew up again Again and again and again and again Forever a lake effect kid. I got the skyline in my veins, Forget your nighttimes Summer love on a gurney with a squeaky wheel, And joke us, joke us, Till the world comes back in to focus, I just want to come back to love, Spark in you head keep you warm enough. I’ve got a pocket full of deadliness Opium dean forgotten in my head At the dead end comes unsteadiness Faux blondes have less fun.
3.
You're not dense.........me on the other hand has no idea what "The Titration of A Strong Acid with a Weak Base to give a Buffer Soloution" might be Enjoy the rest of your birthday and I hope you are over the initial upward hill of your course. Will you succeed, Yes, you will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed)...........to quote Dr Seuss
I have no idea what it is either but I said enough bull in the lab that people thought I did. That is an art that shall get me a degree!
4. Ok. Life. Got. Complex. I can't put this on my normal journal because I know they'll see it. Lowdown - the guy next to me in halls likes me, I like him, he asked me out, I said yes. Except we live together so its awkward, I've never been out with anyone, I'm a geek, people don't like me. People do not like me. I am not popular. I am not pretty. I am not thin, and he is STUNNING. Why does he like me? I can't figure that out? He said "I like you just the way you are, and who you are" christ, people have been saying for ages that he likes me, and god I like him but why the hel is it so complex. I just don't want people in the hall to find out. This is scarier than moving out.
5. "Engineering is the art of modelling materials we do not wholly understand, into shapes we cannot precisely analyse, so as to withstand forces we cannot properly assess, in such a way that the public has no reason to suspect the extent of our ignorance." no wonder he dropped that crap. In other news I got a wad of cash for my birthday which is great, will spam with photos later when I have time as I am procastinating finishing my prelab stuff. Only my lab starts in half an hour so I should technically be somewhat...leaving soon. There is only so much attention I can give "The Titration of A Strong Acid with a Weak Base to give a Buffer Soloution." More to the point, why are we doing a titration practical again, and why are we doing a practical that does not even in the tiniest bit relate to ANYTHING we are doing in lectures. Either the connection is ver obscure. Or I am dense. The latter may be the simplist reason and most likley the correct.

Tired. Very tired. Home. Got home late. telephone boxing traffic between Edinburgh and Glasgow, crappy motorway and WTF does Edinburgh need trams YOU HAVE GOOD BUSSES NOW YOU WANT TRAMS WTF?! Crapping up the roads, took an hour to get out the telephone boxing bus station will all the road works. I missed my own bedroom <333 feels very strange being back here though <3
8. I can't hack this. I want to go home, but they wont take me back, I know they wont. God, I always seem to mess things up.
9. All biology is chemistry, all chemistry is physics and all physics is maths. Uni is overrated. I want to go home.
10. Hey *waves* I thought I should pop my head in here and see what goes on yo.
11. *crys* OMG Why do I have no TV *cries more* dear god I need to see the tornado episode.
12. sammie

Right Now.

I'm thinking that it would a capital idea if I went to uni, sat in the library and studied. Though the point that I have to clean my room today for the cleaners comming in, and then do my washing tonight has sucked all motivation out me.
13. The to do list ~ Quantification in the Life Sciences Lab Report - Due Friday DONE! ~ Biochemistry Lab Report - Due Friday DONE! ~ Biochemistry Tutorial Questions - Friday ~ Type up lecture notes ~ Met lab questions - TOMORROW DONE! WHY THE HELL DID I LEAVE THIS CRAPSO LATE?! Tonight I fear shall be an all nighter. I need caffeine tablets.
14. My sister cancelled on me I was really looking forward to seeing her. I have ANOTHER cold. The fact that the University of Edinburgh doesn't know what heating is isn't helping. I can't be arsed getting dressed to go out of my room. I think I'm spending all day in bed today just for the sheer fact I don't want to deal with people today.
15. Thanks both of you <3 in the lab we just used the wet bulb and got given charts and graphs to work out the vapour pressure and dew point then used them to calculate the relative humidity. So I don't know if I have to know all the equation stuff but it was mentioned in lectures, so it is examinable. However I've decided that I'm not going to get too hung up on it, they can't bring in therodynamics like that its the introductory module (ok that is how I'm validating this in my head.)
16. Ok so here is what I have in my notes "Vapour pressure is the pressure of a vapour in an equilibrium state, this means the number of molecules evaporating is equal to the number of molecules re-entering. All liquids have a tendency to evaporate in to gas and gas has a tendency to condense back in to their original state (either liquid or solid.) In general the higher the temperature the higher the vapour pressure, when air is at its saturation pressure it is said to be at its dew point. The saturation vapour pressure can be calculated using the Clausius-Clapeyron Relationship, it characterises the phase transition between states of matter on a pressure-temperature diagram. The equation gives the curve which indicates the point of saturation. (1/es)(des/dT)=Lv/(RvT^2) where Lv = latent heat of evaporation, Rv = gas constant for water vapour, and T = Kelvin temp. There is a far easier way to calculate it by using a SVP Diagram, which you simply interpret." What I don't get is the maths though to be honest does anyone get it at all? If anyone does get it care to explain in English pretty please? I'm not sure if its the way the lecturer has explained it or my note taking thats confused it all up but the whole concept of vapour pressure confuses me, I've read about 12 different explanations of what Vapour Pressure is, does anyone have a clear and simple definition of it? Also, problem two, or should it be three? When temperature and dew point are plotted from a Radiosonde ascent the point where they meet or come very close together is where condensation is going to occur, since at the dew point the air becomes 100% saturated? So will that be where the cloud base is? Thanks x
17. I'm quite gutted I'm going to miss this...I have no TV
18. I took this while out messing around with my friends the day before I moved. Taken with a camera phone so hence the size, but I turned out good I think.

20. Thanks! I'll look more in to it, have to find the funds first, been living off 8pence noodles and beans on toast to pay for it. Well worth it I think
21. So. I should be at the moment in a lab from 10 to 2 but it's the first week of teaching and labs haven't started yet. All is good I suppose. Yesterday was good had my first chemistry lecture, dear god they did not waste time, went right in to it. Which was alright because it was an hour or "this is an atom, this is an electron, this is called a proton." I slept though most of it. Meteorology lecture was an hour of "welcome this is called a map." Quantification this morning was an hour of; "This is your book, there be lots of maths in here you must learn." Tomorrow lectures start properly. Oh god. Chem 9 to 10 then Met 10 to 11.

23. I'm seriously thinking about going storm chasing in the USA in 2010, I'm starting to save (which is hard when your living off student loans) any advice on how to get started trying to find groups to go with and things. I have no idea where to even start trying to work that out haha!
