1st squall has passed with a fair amount of rain but since it's gone through it's fairly calm but suspect we are in for it a little bit more in Chelmsford when the 2nd squall hits us if it doesn't fragment

Agree with this Rambo
Some shockingly childish behaviour in here tonight, its the same when a bolt of lightning does not land in someones garden in the Summer when people have a go at a forecast.
I would probably urge the people that do have a go in here to just not bother and just leave people to post up forecasts from the Beeb or their Iphones in future, then they can stand in front of a mirror and have a go at their phones instead of venting on here.
Truly Pathetic!
Ive not posted in ages or even been on the forum and it hasnt changed in years!!
What will be will be when it comes to weather.....

That was rather less scary than I was expecting - well-held by the pilot.
Pilots earning their money today with many aborted landings I bet!

The QE2? The bridge part? I am guessing the crossing is still open for traffic but rammed due to it being both ways.
Yeah The QE2 Bridge is shut - but tunnel is open but its only 1 tunnel going into Essex

I am travelling to East London from Brighton at 4pm. Driving a transit. Eeeek!
Long way round for you then unless you fancy sitting in the traffic as Dartford Bridge is shut and chaos apparently!!!

We had 2 waves of storms that arrived to the north of me one about 11pm and then another about 2.30, at one point we had a massive white extremly bright flash followed by the electric going off and a huge bang but it didn't echo like they normally do it was very strange
-
We are surrounded by pylons so I'm guessing one of those must have been struck??
-
We have just had an almighty flash followed by lights going out then BANG!!! but the bang didn't echo it was very strange indeed
-
Well day started off really nice, plenty of heat and humidity ...... but since about 11 we have been under a blanket of grey gloom not even a spark in site!!!
Fingers crossed something fires up later tonight for a bit of a show.... Jealous of the West London Storms...I seem a bit to far east to pick up any of these storms ..........
