  3. @knocker good to see you posting again your contribution is much appreciated on this forum Always my first port of call in the morning this thread plain and simple as it should be without getting lost in all the hype on the other side.
  4. Nice GFS 06z by day eight back into the cold air with snow showers on and off just on the verge of FI infact the whole run never gets temperatures into double figures and deep into FI daytime temperatures struggling at 1c this is the GFS so as the phrase goes more runs needed .
  5. Wintry mess sums it up here rain-snow-sleet and so on roads are a slushy mess hopefully the snow showers will materialise later tonight into tomorrow morning.
  6. Updated Manchester Airport TAF just says Snow Showers up until lunchtime tomorrow so that is encouraging.
  7. 1st shower of the day arrived at Man Airport and can confirm its of the liquid variety nothing at all wintry in that shower
  8. Nothing spectacular but looks like some kind of streamer for southern parts Merseyside/Cheshire this evening
  9. After this very mild spell the updated text from the met not to bad for the week ahead
  10. A beautiful day for a new years eve walk sun is out and feeling warm at 14c looks like turning cooler into next week with perhaps a bit of snow over the highest hills looking like a long road to anything significantly cold temperatures tending to be up and down unfortunately nothing we can do about it so on that note Happy New year to you all lets hope we can just get one shot at a cold snap at some stage this winter.
  11. After this next few and possibly record breaking days this chart at day seven will have us back in the hat and glove territory brief but a fairly potent Northerly
  12. Not Good news from Matt for January as ever we shall Await and see what transpires.
  13. Its of two just type in your post code its from the GFS which is why it funny. Just look at it. 6c and heavy snow Wind direction Easterly and of course we don't get snow from the east or so I've been told in the past And lastly over 30cm of snow in a day Totally laughable.
  14. Time to put the weather on one side and enjoy the Christmas holidays. Wish all the members in here a very merry Christmas stay safe and stay well.
  15. Looking at this morning granted FI 14c showing for the far SE 12c showing for NW England good chance the record could be under threat just to add this is for 31st December.
  16. @Catacol thanks for the explanation perhaps your detailed explanation should be moved to the learning thread before it gets lost in the next cold saga.
  17. Would be a good time to hear from @fergieweather just to get a professional point of view to see why the models have suddenly changed etc however after reading this thread this morning (not all posts may I add) you wouldn't blame him to stear clear. All the told you so posts are an embarasemt to this forum and one reason i very rarely contribute to it.
