I have popped my head out the skylight in my roof( It was freezing), and I can see wright over to the mendips. There is not a single cloud in the sky.
wow thats a tall house to be able to see right over mendips! lol
Yes its just clear sky up here at the moment ever since around 3pm however it is getting ever colder! its now -1.4c although im confused how someone at 900feet in devon could be colder than mendips although it was cloudy here most of day so that might explain it.

Very cold here today it was almost an ice day.
current temperature is -0.4
max temp around 2pm it was 0.3

The main showers are not likely to come here until tonight anyway, and the occlusion is still likely to come here for tomororw night and may well stick around for a while.
This was my summary from the charts earlier and nothing has changed, we rmaining in the high risk areas, will do a further update after tonight charts.
your right however that occlusion looks like getting wales but not somerset, looks like we could be last no snow zone after south wales gets it?

We could have a Wales and South West Whingeing Thread.
I live on a main road and the gritter hasn't been by yet, so the council are obviously not expecting anything imminently.
Bristol won't get a sodding flake, excuse my language.
Always worth trying the old reverse psychology thing. Does anyone have any good ideas, like putting the sledge back in the loft, or something?!
i have turned my computer off and tryed to forget about it twice but failed and can't stop looking at that awful radar which has projected ppn to move into west country but it just seems to march on west missing us.

Always the way you want it so much it knows and decides to detour around, the result is banging your head against a brick wall.
Hmm i don't see any reaching somerset from this radar. as usual its north south and east of us

Nice and sunny here and bristol.
If you didnt go outside you wouldnt think snow was on the way.
well it isnt on the way is it!? bristol and somerset look pants on the radar with the gap sticking too us!

Clouded over just wondering will something fall ?those who have been having flurries have any settled?
had a few snow flurry earlier and flakes have not melted but u have to look for them.

We have had light snow for around an hour or so now so with that band of snow moving towards west around 3pm it could be interesting.
strange the radar is not picking up any snow down here yet?

Very cloudy here over last hour or so with the odd snow grain in air.
I cant see any on radar and wondered whats it like round bristol and somerset at moment anyone?
Or it could just be mendips doing this?

maybe a dusting but no more than 2cm max at best i feel.

no surprise there one day before event and west country gets downgraded again!!
We will be lucky to get a mere dusting now!
How long before our warning gets removed altogether?

I can't help but smirk just a little at the prospect of eastern areas turning to sleety rain and western snow starved areas coming out better for once.
we have a great chance of seeing our first snow event this winter
It might not even turn to rain at 300m on tue/wed?

temperature is 5.2c cloudy and dull all day.

variable cloud although looking at radar could be in for a couple of showers in about an hour.
Ground frost has persisted though the day which i didnt expect.

Just had a light shower which started as hail and sleet but turned to snow in the heavier bursts.
temp is 3.4 but fell to 1.2 within the shower.

Temperature is up to 4.5c now. no showers yet and i think that small cluster in south wales is going to miss us. I was sure that only last night they were showing widespread wintry showers in west country? not a shower around.

No showers here in somerset and doesnt look hopeful that we will see our first snow either which considering the winter so far is poor for the mendip hills. Or just unlucky.

temperature is 2.0 now outside with a thaw setting in. hoar frost is falling off the trees and melting fast. shame to see it all go.
Cloud cover is just starting to break up.

It has just got above freezing for first time in 4 days. current temp 0.1
Dont think the winter wonderland is going to last the day today i can feel a thaw coming. :-(

Well it looks wintry outside with the frost lasting all day even under cloudy skys for most of the day although sky has cleared in last couple of hours.
Max temp 0c around about 11am and once cloud cleared it fell to around -0.5.
Current temp is now -1.2 with gentle breeze.
