I'm absolutely amazed that the met office haven't got a severe weather warning out, conditions are horrendous if you're travelling.

Very heavy snow here for the last few hours, lots of stranded motorists in and around Blandford and Dorchester.

I haven't seen snow like this down here for donkey years, coming down harder than ever........only problem is it sounds like lots of people are getting stranded.

Still snowing hard here, starting to cause problems on the roads around Dorchester, blandford and weymouth. Only just starting to go white on the coast.

Thanks for that, very annoying though as especially from a gardeners point of view it makes the forecast meaningless. I have to refer to the Met Office when it comes to planning for frost etc.

The forecast temperatures for my area, near weymouth, are consistently 3-5 degrees warmer than actual during cold spells. For example today the forcast at 9.00 is 6 degrees but it's only 0 degrees outside. This has been happening throughout the cold spell. I wonder if someone could look at it/explain why, I've tried putting in other close locations but the're still high. Thanks.

I see the Met office have updated their experimental cold weather alert from green to Red this morning, hopefully their 15day forecast will be out soon.

Clear skies, cold and frosty here, currently -0.2.

As an aside I've noticed that the temperatures for my area on Netweather are frequently 3-5 degrees warmer than actual during cold spells (current forecast 5 degrees) yet the met office are usually about right, I just wondered why this is..........sorry probably not the place to ask this :lol:
