Tonight has been a big let down for us in Stoke on Trent,was we the only place in the midlands to miss out?
We had a couple of flakes early on but that was it.
oh well will have to wait till the winter of 2009/2010 now for our next snow.

Just Started to snow here in Alsager north of stoke on trent.

The return back on Monday may possibly be cancelled, if not it will be very rough indeed.
Although the passenger operators on the UK-Spain routes (I think there are 3) usually put the bigger vessels out, designed to withstand the Bay of Biscay.
The ship they use is the Pride of bilbao and she is not good in bad seas!!!

A friend of mine has gone to Bilbao on a ferry from Portsmouth which left some 8 hours late on saturday and he called me up early and said it was a bit lumpy so im glad on not on that ship and its due to come back to portsmouth on Monday afternoon!!!!!!!

My Dad lives in Honiton and he tells me that in Honiton there is a power cut and the A30 has been closed and Exeter Airport is now closed.

I see the snow/rain band crossing wales has got very close to the midlands and seems to be swinging round a bit.
does anyone think we will get anything out of it?

There is a area of what i take is snow over south wales on the meto radar and it seems to be moving north maybe northeast could this hit my area later on(stoke on trent?)

Its started snowing but very fine at the moment.

Hard to tell, you are in a good spot for this though, i'll say anywhere between 1-4 inches by 8-9am
