  1. Is it wrong that I'm basing my decision on whether to go to the Catch-in-Laws' house tonight on this question "is there more chance of a storm there or here?" ? As it stands the best chance looks to be there

If I had any in-laws and a car and there was going to be a storm I'd be off in a sec hahaLittle bit of convection here in Coatbridge. Maybe it will develop and give a good dumping to those further north.

  2. Not happy with the situation here in Coatbridge. There was a fair amount of snow on the ground when I went to bed last night but when I woke up this morning there was less despite it still snowing. The snow has now intensified in the last hour so I just looked out of the window and guess what? Its all melted! Every last bit of it. cray.gif

  3. Not surprised looking at the radar that my area of North Lanarkshire is missing out again! That mass of heavy rain that caused so much trouble in the borders is disappearing as soon as it gets near Airdrie and that lump of heavy rain that hit Cumbernauld has just skipped over to Glasgow rather than come down to me in Coatbridge, same as what happened yesterday. It's seems that we have developed one of those protective shields here that will not allow in thunderstorms in the summer and snow in the winter lol!

  4. Hey folks nice to see everyone back on here again. Looking forward to this event, a big difference from last week anyway. Sorry to go off topic I am looking for a decent weather app for my ipad, any suggestions? Something that is accurate and shows temp, humidity and things like that. Have tried a couple but they seem more geared towards the American market. My poor weather station got blew away in one of our famous storms and have been unable to replace it yet!

  5. Wish I had taken a photo of it with my phone! Idiot as I had it on me at the time but was just spellbound with the colours. I am no expert but I asume that it has something to do with dust particles or something like that. I am sure that the disaster prediction websites will be having a field day when they hear about it. Even my dog was acting strange though and wanted to get home from his walk!

  6. Evening folks. Not sure what to make of this one. The BBC forecasts on Radio 4 advice people to keep checking furture forecasts but they don't seem to be taking it very seriously so far. (Of course we have to remember that London and the South East don't look like being affected that much and to some in the metoffice the south east is the uk!). I some how have a bad feeling about this one as I have been tracking this storm since it developed in the tropics. Time of course will tell.

    Rob.

  7. evening all,

good luck to everyone tomorrow, not expecting much myself as I think that the mountains to the north will break everything up and it will be very patchy but hey you never know. Temperature outside here in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire is -2.3c, not looking forward to a cold early start tomorrow! :p Night everyone.

  8. Hi everyone,

Just heard a weather forcaster from the met office say sorry to us in Scotland on the PM Programme on BBC Radio 4. They then warned us in the central belt that the snow band will return from the north to affect us at the rush hour tommorrow. We wait and see
