Storm & Convective Discussion 12z 21/7/14 ------>
Gleno-South Coast replied to A.J's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
Very dark clouds to the east and gusty winds here in fair oak.......c'mon thunder n lightning.....make it very very frightening!!...;-) -
Well this event was overhyped to say the least all ive seen here is a couple of distant lightning strikes and moderate rain......thurs eve was better. Ive had better storms a few weeks back with the west to east sunshine and convective showers stuff.But well done to those of you that did get a decent show ;-).

Great to hear some peeps getting some wintry stuff over the last couple of hours,stark contrast to the model output discussion where its almost wrist slitting time for coldies,as we all know that can change and as a cold lover hope it does to give at least a decent taste of winter.... instead of endless wind and rain.

Afternoon peeps,looks like you guys could see the best of the showers today,could'nt blow a few down here in central southern area could you ;-)

Morning all,well its cloudy and 4.4C and judging by the walk to the papershop just now the windchill sends that temp into the minus for sure,really bitter. Well living not far from the coast i could be a bit peeved at the amount of laying snow this winter,but when i look at the amount of days snow has fallen,then really i think we've done well on the grand scheme of things,i mean 5 yrs ago we'd of been screaming for a few flakes let alone whats fallen,im like most on here,would love a whiteout of epic proportions and snowed in,but lets be grateful that even this late in march,the potential is still there albeit diminishing ;-)

South Central England Regional Discussion Thread Part 3
Gleno-South Coast replied to gottolovethisweather's topic in Regional
Well from a high of 1.6C earlier to 1.1C,has now gone up to 1.3,still snowing tho,so temps up down and up again,it seems there are a lot of little micro-climates out there as some have snow,some have rain,its always gonna be pretty much touch and go when we have cold temps and the atlantic knocking on our door,lets hope we all get something much whiter in the week.- 521 replies

At the moment the precipitation thats on its way in from the west for sun/mon looks like it will stall and get as far east as western wales the far south west and just generally the western most parts of the uk,and we have the GFS and ECM on board for the very cold stuff further in the wk,peeps in model threads are eagerly waiting to see if the UKMO jumps on board,if it does then we could be heading for the freezer.Somebody mentioned on model thread possible -21 uppers for the south coast.

Hi peeps well at least everybody is now talking about possible snow prospects,less than a couple of wks ago we seemed to be heading for endless mild zonal dross,so compared to that its much better in terms of cold prospects and even hints at very cold,and we've seen how the models have struggled with the pattern change,but it seems now even with more model wobbles we are getting there slowly in terms of proper winter weather.
