What little snow we had left yesterday, got washed away when the SW wind turned up and it started raining! although the cold did come back and give us another covering of just a few mm, so we have snow on top of ice (like many places around these parts) Just checked the radar, and we have a bit of a shower flying through blackburn/ rochdale area on a direct collision course with us, that's assuming the pennines doesn't stop it! Current conditions (overnight low): Temp -3.9 (-4.1) DP -9.5 (-11.57) Raw Pressure 976mb Falling Forecast Snow So here's hoping the afternoon showers arrive and gives a little more snow

Still got light snow here at the moment. Just checking todays stats, it says it all when the high temp for the day was 2.0c registered at 7:30 PM! Currently: -0.7c outside -3.22c DP Winds N/NW @ 6mph Pressure 979 and falling!

Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment round here. After the early slight additional covering, it's all gone, bar on the odd car and wall Temps stuck at 1c, DP -0.55c and the winds swung round to the W/ SW <_<

Had a few light flurries over recent hours and has covered the car with a thin layer of snow in the last hour or so. Temps have climbed from just a tad below 0c to 1.1c in last 2 hours too! DP is 0.66c, Humidity 88% and wind chill -1.8c Hoping this band of ppn that's making it's way down the country doesn't miss us, I would not be happy!! Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone!

Our current temp is 0.1°C dewpoint 0.28°C Still snowing really fine grains and the roads are now covered with 2-3cm of fresh snow!

Yeah, we've had a decent covering too galba. Roads are pretty dicey at the moment, I suspect it may clear for the morning though :lol: it's been really really fine snow grains most of the time, but managed to settle quite well. There's not much wind up here at the moment though.....

Hi Galba, I'm over at Penistone, not too far away Think you will be a bit higher than us though. I'm on one of the main roads out and it's covering them already, with cars going about 10-20 mph. The gritter has just gone by, about 10 mins ago. I thought that would sort it out, but just looked now and I don't think he was gritting as the road is still covered! My partner works at Rotherham. She's just rung to tell me it's the same with the fine grains, but it's not settling and they don't have much lying snow from the other days events! Need to keep an eye on it, they shut all access roads to us on monday night at 5pm!! The police where turning cars away, even if you lived here. If it gets heavier, I'll need to recall her!

It started snowing about half hour ago here, really fine grain stuff. Starting to settle though. about 0.5cm already, even with fine grains!

Fair enough and I let you of the hook, we're under BMBC The thing is though, there's only 2 ways out of the depot, our way for the east and the other way for the west and we see them passing all the time usually. they've only really been past maybe a handful of times in the last few days!

I thought it was sleet earlier when I took a photo: but it's full blow snow again, there's no more wheel tracks on the main road outside! (everyone's being sensible and leaving their cars at home when they're out and about tonight!) On look north, they said that the gritters were working hard to keep the roads clear - excuse me? We live 300 yards away from the main gritting depot in this area and the last time I saw one was 4pm! All the roads, including the ones that carry the main traffic (like the one running out the front of ours) are under approx. 5-10cm of snow!

We keep having spells of light/ grainy snow, but it keeps on coming back! this was taken around 3:50pm: Now: The car was clear at 3:45pm as we'd only just got back from the local village, now it's got a decent covering: Currently, we're in one of the moderate falls: long may it continue!

About 15:15 the roads were fairly clear here, just snow on the sides - then the heavens opened! by 15:45..... still snowing here, fairly fine grains at the moment, but changes to decent flakes every now and again keep it coming!!

Not an immense amount outside. approx 3-4cm All the roads are clear around here, the gritters where on the ball for a change. Still probably won't stop the local schools from being closed! My other half isn't happy, she wanted a snow day Hoping for more today, then I can ring her to tell her to come home. Light snow falling at the moment

Yep, not far away from me, just over the hill! Really hoping that we're going to get a decent covering from this. Got my sledge ready!
