The breakdown will come at some time. GP has talked about the last third of January signalling a return to less cold conditions. However for the next 6-7 days we've got cold to very cold conditions to enjoy. An additional point that could be taken into consideration is that the models have been known to shift cold spells too quickly IMO. I've found often they last longer than is progged as they try and shift Blocks with 'overblown' lows in the Atlantic. It will end though... Anyway back to the North-West... We've had a couple of light showers this morning but the rest of the day was cold, crisp and sunny. School was off today as well for me, however it's on tomorrow, as the school has somehow found some grit from somewhere... It doesn't look like the region will be seeing any more significant snow until Sunday, however with the unpredictable nature of this cold spell so far, it wouldn't surprise me if other event(s) crop up before then.
