After a few cm of snow this morning a thaw set in for the a/noon Temp now stable at 1.7 degs No sign of predicted advancing snow yet and no north wind to drive it. Forecasts today are for continuous snow...what happened?

That's the rain on again...great. So much for the snow forecast Any more of this and I'm going get the BBQ out. Summer's usually wet and cold as well - same diff. ...anyone want a burger?

In Ballater today woke up to good 10 inches of nice snow - but it's been melting most of this a/noon as temps got up to 3.5 degs It seems to have set at 1 deg. at the moment but is no detectable wind to bring things along. According to charts should be on the way so am waiting eagerly for the next deposit (I've got the a/noon off tomorrow)

I think you're right, if you look at the BBC weather beta it shows snow all night tonight and into Tuesday. Here's hoping - also for later into the week

Here has hardly snowed all day, although in the last few minutes have a few light flurries. The radar shows snow should be falling but that's not what I'm seeing so far. I really fancied a duvet day tomorrow as well..!

Thanks for that info Zerouali; I really hope so, I was getting a bit discouraged by some of the other posts with predictions of everything turning to rain! I've got the fire on and fingers crossed!

We've actually had the first few flurries at ground level already today, although not lying yet. The hills are all white though (I can see Lochnagar(1155m) from my house and it's covered in snow) More please!
