is there any chance we will see similar weather in the south west to what we had in 1979, around the 7th of feb it was really windy and started to snow around 4pm by the next day we had 15ft deep drifts , most roads were closed for a week even the main A303 oad from london to plymouth was closed for 3 days and even when it reopened it was single lane traffic with traffic lights for a week . we had ten days off school
-
is there gonna be a chance we could see weather like we did in feb 1979 we had high winds all day around the 7th i think and it started snowing around 4pm by the next day we had drifts 15 ft deep , in places most roads were closed for a week and even the a303 main road from london to plymouth was shut for 3 days and when it did open they had only one lane free and had to use traffic lights . we had ten days off school it was fantastic

Got heavy rainy sleety stuff now. Amazing that South Petherton is so close and much lower and is getting snow.
And another thing. The traffic camera we were looking at earlier:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/somerset/webcams/came...on=bbc_new_west
Looks like there isn't any traffic coming south down the M5 - hardly any tyre tracks!!
keep your fingers crossed mate long night ahead me thinks
-
Hmmm, is that heavy snow now? There isn't anything showing on the radar!
yep radar is out parts of a303 shut just given out on the radio
