  1. I drove Braunstone - Coalville and the change was amazing. Coalville has finally caught up on the snow front. Been snowing in some form all daty but since around 10.45 has been very light, still a great covering though.
  2. Hell yes there is snow in Coalville, probably more than we have had for the last week. So much for winter being over, this is brilliant!!
  3. I stayed in Leicester overnight where there was little snow but as I travelled up to Coalville for work the transformation was amazing. A good few cm's overnight and been snowing lightly here all morning. Coalville must have really got caught under some stuff last night. hasn't stopped snowing all morning. A brilliant bonus.
  4. This is a small world, I am on your road tonight before leaving daughter with in-laws in the morning as I head to work. Yes settling which is good to see, not sure we are going to see too much though.
  5. I remember the BBC forecasts on Wed/Thurs that had the whole of the Midlands/South of England blanketed in snow. Gradually as the days have gone by this snow has slowly disappeared from the forecasts. Nick2702 is right they have called this one very badly. Oh well its been fun, life goes on. :-)
  6. Thats my last hope! but not too optimistic. I may just draw my curtains tonight, and not look out again until the morning and see whats what! Its difficult to call for anyone, the local forecasts I have heard this morning have been so vague covering themselves for any eventuality.
  7. Same here, its game over. There was snow on our car last night, gone this morning. Went out walking with dog earlier and whilst its been snowing quite heavily its quite 'wet' snow and not really settling. Notably warmer as well, its been fun but looks like we could be on the turn?!
  8. Now thats a familiar sight! My in laws are at the top of the road, towards the Kingsway! :-)
  9. Had about an hour of steady light snow last night, another shower overnight and whilst out walking this morning another 30-35mins of moderate - heavy snow. Snow levels steadily getting higher, just had another 2-3 minute heavy shower. More to come this weekend :-)
  10. Been snowing moderate-heavy here in Ibstock for around 20 minutes now. Just reducing slightly to a bit lighter as I type this. Are we on for plenty of this today then or what? Like a big kid! Andy, where in LE3 are you? My in laws live there and are babysitting my daughter today, the Kingsway has been terrible, why no grit? Was like an ice rink last night.
  11. -3 here in North West Leicestershire at the moment, looking forward to some more significant snow this weekend, fingers crossed!
  12. Snowing lightly here for ages but turned heavy about 20 minutes ago and really starting to settle. At last, the snow shield has lifted! hurrah
  13. Any more decent chances of an event this side of Xmas?
  14. Just seen the BBC East Midlands forecast giving out snow warning for Leicestershire tonight, hoping for more tomorrow night too. Was disappointed last night, curtain twitching the whole night and we didn't get a whiff of the stuff!
  15. we will see. hard to predict as well you may know but I think we will get something
  16. snow falling quite heavily here. Has been for last 25mins or so. Starting to settle as well. hopefully a nice covering before tomorrow's onslaught!!!!!
  17. Hi guys. Just listened to Radio Leicester weather. Giving -10c tonight and possibly lower in rural areas. As for the snow they are playing it down saying we are unlikely to get anything heavy. I don't trust them though, on Wednesday their forecast for Thursday was rain and some sleet, snow over higher ground. Classic!
  18. I have had Radio Leicester on a lot today. Have not heard of any school closures for Thursday? The website does not mention any either?? ill be a tough call for heads who are under pressure over closing too easily!
  19. Hello guys. Just found this website. I love the snow and hoping for some serious amounts over the next 24 gours or so. I am in Ibstock, Leicestershire. We have a covering of around 2cm at the moment. It has just stopped again though. I won't be able to sleep tonight and I have to be up at 5.50am!!!!!
