I'm so glad you said that Snow joke, I'm getting desperet here.
Another storm just started in Darlington, loud thunder and more torrential rain, I hope that river isn't filling too much

Thundering again in Darlington and rain getting heavier?

Still waiting for any sign of a storm here in west middlands, I'm going to have a mini rant here. I'm absolutely sik and tired if the NE having a flipping storm fest, the best thing mist if us middlanders have had is dome rain falling at about 8mm/per hour and looking who's getting it again, the freaking NE! Oh and who will get the best snow in winter.... ummm the NE?
Hi Staffordshire, its funny but Tyneside and Northumberland, 40+ miles north of me have had loads of storms this year, whereas we have had er, one! Its been central NE England thats had all the fun! Until today that is

That's intense, which way is it all moving?
Hi Steve, that looks like two storms, the main one seems to run from Tynedale sw through Durham towards Darlington and the Tees Valley where it is breaking up with some action maybe left in North Yorks? It is definately dying off here now, it looks as if it will miss Newcastle and Gateshead? The northern system shown doesnt appear to be electric
Cheers

Sounds bad Mark, I love a good thunder storm as long as I don't get flooded or house hit by lightning.
Stay safe.
Thanks, its calmed down again rain wise, the thunder is still very much there, one rolling into another, the last time I saw a storm like this in intensity and length was in the summer of 2002

Thunder heard to my south now distant but thunder all the same!!
Hopefully you will enjoy what we have got, be patient, the show is about to start!! That thunder is like !!
-
Lights flickering, not a good sign, non stop house rattling thunder every couple of minutes. Has it arrived on Tyneside yet,?
-
Me and my big mouth! An absolute belter just there. If was a child I'd be crying by now, this is a big one and no mistakeI wonder if this storm isnt showing up, Isle of Wight weather was showing storm J612 moving north but they now have it sat over York, a failing in the boltek readings?n It don't do bad for 300 miles away! More lightning in Darlington just now? Didnt hear thunder

Wow, looks like your getting a good show up north. Thought it was our turn in the south west, but it looks like all the action is to the north.
You aren't wrong, I thought it was moving off, just had another CG with thunder 2 secs later I was going to get the power tools out, will give it a miss, the dog is very calm considering the rattling the house has had more thunder, rain intensifying again, this is flood material and I live 50 ft from a river aplogies for duplicate posts, cable broadband mustn't like the storm. p.s. loads of sirens out there now on main road south from town

I have my beady eye well and truly on that one Gavin as it is on it's way up to me

The gutters cant cope, this rain is like 23rd/24th June 2007

Yet another storm passed over Darlington! I feel sooo sorry for the members still in this club, and we night have even more yet! I'll still tune in now and then tho!

Very soggy after walking the dog 'between storms'

Heard 4 rumbles of thunder since my last post(so 6 rumbles heard all together now), by no mean they are aloud but they are noticetable. I still have NOT seen any lightning though. I think the embedded "storm" is to the east of me as the cloud is slightly darker there but its hard to pin point where the thunder is coming from.
A storm started in Darlington about 15-45, I heard loads of thunder in the office and walking to the car. Mrs H is adamant she saw lightning at home, the storm tracked over the east side of the town centre. It looks like another load of black cloud spilling up from the Vale of York as I type
Bring it on!

'Hoping the storms further south will swing up to this area later but probably unlikely'
Bad news, there was another storm to the SW of Darlington about an hour ago, distant thunder, its probably headed up towards Weardale, now got blue sky and white clouds clearing from the Vale of York, party over up here chaps and chapesses :winky:
-
Storm currently over Darlington since about 4-45, very slow moving, sheet lightning, no CG seen (yet) Its heading NW by the look of it
MH about to get soaked walking the dog:ph34r:
