The yellow patches in the NW radar image below, just to the south-west of Tewkesbury, could come to Malvern and give us what should be the heaviest period of snow so far this winter!

A lorry is currently blocking the A4103 Worcester to Hereford Road near the Texaco garage at the crossroads with the A417, so beware!

I need to attempt to reach Kington today. Anybody got any idea what the roads are like from either Worcester to Hereford or Ledbury to Leominster? I'm worried about Fromes Hill!

I highly doubt you'll see anything this side of Christmas, and even if it happens to snow afterwards from a marginally cold westerly it'll not be much. Even last year when 30-60cm fell across the North East you would probably have been able to struggle down to the A1 on most days, although it was often dodgy in the mornings. The models show it being mild for the foreseeable anyway so I wouldn't worry about that.

Hello all. Hope you can help!
I am spending xmas in Consett - travelling up this Wednesday afternoon and travelling back the following Tuesday. Any rough ideas whether I'll get snow when I'm there / will I be snowed in? I'd ideally not like to be stuck there!

Predicting heavy snow for Malvern tomorrow at 6 & 9 am.. followed by rain.

Snowing in Malvern apparently. Stuck in Worcester and no snow here at all.

Snowing here, has been since at least 3am when I woke up to check.
Maybe a couple of cm of fresh snow, but it's hard to tell when it's mixing in with the old stuff from Thursday.
