I have not seen anything like this. 10 mins ago it was 1.3c and sleet. I just check the temp and its 0c. Proper snow which is instantly lying on all surfaces. Ah....the wind has almost gone
Same happening here in Hexham

Snowing now, but no accumulation overnight
-
Snowing finally here. Certainly nothing to write home about though.

The big mass looks like it is dissipating on Raintoday radar

Heavy shower in Hexham. Last night was the first real snow we've had.

Snow started about 10 am in Hexham with tiny flakes. Bigger now, very steady and just starting to lie.

6.2 in southern Mexico today

Typical. Huge patch on the radar comes straight for Hexham and evaporates 5 miles away.

Father in law has 5 inches in Washington. Not a flake in Hexham, it was like a spring day here this morning. I was shocked when we got into Newcastle and saw the snow.

Well, I don't have to worry about digging my car out at the airport on Friday. My flight back tomorrow has been cancelled, I guess Heathrow is FUBAR. Earliest return I can get is Monday for Tues arrival! Looks like I might just have missed all the fun.
StormChaser, do you know what the roads around Great Park (where the Sage offices are) look like?

Anyone know what it's like at Newcastle Airport? I've got my car in long term parking there, coming back in on Friday. Wonder if I'll be able to get home. After a 14 hour trip, I kind of need my car to start and the parking lot to have been cleared.

There must be someone on this thread that can report whats happening. It looks to be entering the Hexam area now...anyone.
2.1c with a 0.4c dewpoint. It's rain, and I have to say I'm pleased with that, as I'm heading to the airport in a few hours and don't need the snow to cancel my flight!

my temp gauge has risen to 0.3oC which is odd. was -1.0 not long ago. What temps to ppl have in newcastle? wonder if cloud cover is keeping it up
Mine's gone all the way up to 1.9 from 0.4 at 4 pm, dewpoint now at -0.2, yesterday our temps jumped right before the snow came, so maybe a repeat is in store?
